Dr. Eric Belanger, MD

My family had a horrible experience with Dr. Belanger's aftercare, or rather the serious lack of aftercare. After a triple cervical fusion, his office would only prescribe 5 days of pain medication at a time. If the 5th day fell on a weekend? Too bad! Running out of meds and having to go through withdrawals landed us in the ER twice on weekends for dangerous withdrawal symptoms. His office could have cared less when we explained this to them. They also completely cut off meds a week earlier than they had told us WITH NO PLAN IN PLACE FOR WEANING OFF SAFELY. This is despicable and dangerous. People should not come off high dosages of opiates AND benzodiazepines THAT THEY PRESCRIBED cold turkey. People can die from that, and his office was degrading, condescending, and unsympathetic when we raised these concerns. The surgery itself seems to have gone great but their attitude towards patients after the fact is abhorrent. Please find another surgeon if you are able to.

Dr. Balancer is the best doctor I have ran into he's very friendly loving caring doctor that is honest with you concerning your health. Dr. Balancer did a spin fusion on me in 2009 n he did a fabulous job I went back to work in 3 months n I haven't had a problem with my back since the surgery. Dr.Belanger n his assistant Heather n staff was very vey caring they like to get to know you as a person. I always recommend Dr.Belanger n just want to say thank you for all you did to get myself bank up n running

I need to express my gratitude & stellar respect for my Neurosurgen, Dr. eric Belanger,MD & staff at Sanford Health,in Bismarck ND. I believe compassion is born to unique people who have an understanding of the suffering of those around us. It feels like some are born with gifts & or a higher calling to help others.

Dr. Belanger was great and cured my back issue via surgery. I could even do tributes to Elvis after some time.

Excellent doctor and surgeon, but more importantly, he is a good person. He cares about his patients and goes above and beyond what his job description requires of him. Sadly, he is a rare find. Wish we had more doctors out there like Dr. Belanger.
