Dr. Eric S. Brehm, MD

I’m shocked by the negative reviews. Don’t let them scare you into not seeing Dr. Brehm. He is knowledgeable, thorough, doesn’t give you unnecessary meds or tests, listens and explains everything well. He doesn’t pressure me or make me feel guilty about vaccines but explains why they’re important and moves on. He always asks if I have any questions and is patient. I think he’s everything a doctor should be.

Northwestern defaulted me to this doctor as a required 6 month follow up and moving to local PCP. It was the worst experience I have had with any doctor ever. From the moment he walked in he was rude and condescending. Didn’t ask me anything about my health or why I am on the medications I am. Tried to push me to psychiatry and other medications that I know don’t work for me. Would never recommend this guy to anyone.

This physician refused to refill my prescriptions unless I get seen. I did not see him for a year or so because he is verbally abusive and keeps me waiting for an hour or two. In a wellness questionnaire, you were asked to mention current and existing health problems. His comment as soon as he walked in was "every time I see you, you have a new problem!" Oh Lord! I was upset and broke down in tears because all he did was attack and scold. Most of all, he thinks I am lying about my health problems! Dr. Brehm pls quit your practice if you can't deal with complicated health issues! I am getting older and my body is breaking down! Also, you have a professional responsibility to let a patient know of serious side effects of medications that you prescribe!! You have no compassion!

He has lost interest in his patients. Rushed, disconnected. Rubber stamped me. Needs a wake up call. After a long time, not returning.

Took forever, didn't ask questions, no real diagnosis or probing of my issues, no handshake, no apology for being late... won't be going back.

I can't believe the bellyaching about bedside manner, lack of smiling and other childish issues.I've been seeing Dr. Brehm for 10 years, the first time when he accurately diagnosed me having thyroiditis, an unusual condition.Yes, he gets to the point when he thinks I'm not taking my health seriously.

His answer to everything seems to be exercise. Likes to test frequently - but in spite of these frequent office visits nothing seems to get resolved, and the cash in my wallet gets smaller. When a symptom finally did get his attention, he sent me to a specialist. By that time, a lot of damage had been done. After a while I noticed that I preferred going to the dentist more than to the doctor. That's how unpleasant it was for me.

5 minutes of consultation-$280.00Cost of prescription meds-$300.00When I was still sick a month later, he would not take my phone call. I was told to come in again-another $280.00! This guy could'nt care less about healing; just a money grubber and a tool of pharmaceutical companies.

Just doesn't listen and doesn't seem to care.

He is an excellent doctor and his diagnosis is spot on. He wont give you medicine if you don't need it, he tries first to get it corrected by changing diet and exercise routine. He may not be smiling all the time but that does not bother me as he very diligent with all the necessary steps to get my problem corrected.
