Dr. Eric Anthony Camyre, DO

Dr Eric Camrye is the best doctor and is a credit to the professionalism and excellence of the medical community. He is intelligent and always forthcoming with our questions and concerns. Once again, my husband finds his health highly compromised. Dr Camrye called today to see how he was doing. I cannot say enough here now.... I highly recommentd Dr Eric Camrye. Bedside manner is professional. I don't know what the other review that said he has no bedside manner is all about. Dr. Camyre is a breath of fresh air. He made time to get to know me and I never feel rushed. Also, he answers the messages I send through the portal, without making me feel like he's condescending to do so. He's on top of everything. His coverage of me is always complete.

I've had some doctors over my 60 years. Some good, some not so good. This doctor has to be the worst of them all. I don't mind so much him being so arrogant, likes to talk down to you, does not have a lot of time to really listen to you. The problem I have is that he will not treat you if you are not vaccinated. He also may not treat you if you don't follow his rules. I did not stick around long enough to find out. I'm in no way an anti-vaxer but am very skeptical when it comes to mandates, government, and big pharma (follow the money). Please skip this doctor at all costs. It may cost you your health and life someday. Where are the doctors that try and treat the symptoms instead of throwing a band-aid prescription at you?

My mother has been a patient of DR Camyre for a few years now after he took over for her previous PCP and he has never provided the same level of care. The straw that broke the camel’s back though is my mother a few months ago went to him with rapid weight loss and complaining of no appetite. His only response “you’re losing weight aren’t you”. Now months later after finally deciding to listen my mother has a terminal cancer diagnosis. Perhaps if he had listened to her in the beginning instead of being sarcastic the diagnosis wouldn’t have been so grim

First of all let me say that I have never written an opinion of any doctor I have encountered over the past 5 decades but I felt it was my duty to warn others of this character. This past weekend I discovered that the pain medication which I have been using over the past several years, had run out. I had just seen my primary care physician (PCP) that past Friday and had requested a refill. The medication is a controlled substance; however it does not require a written script as far as I know. The medication provides me with a significant amount of relief since I have been dealing with a serious case of debilitating osteoarthritis for many years. I called my PCP and got his answering service. They took the information and were very courteous. After 1 and 1/2 hours went by with no response, I called again. Within 20 minutes or so I received a phone call from Dr. Eric Camyre. I though he was my PCP when he first spoke, but he then announced who he was and said that he was… covering for him. By that point, I could tell by the tone of his voice that he was extremely annoyed. After repeating my situation, the same message as was given to the answering service, he indicated that he could do nothing for me and suggested that I should instead go to a clinic if I was in that much pain. The fact that he was annoyed right from the start indicated, at least as far as I’m concerned, that he in fact received my original message but decided to ignore it instead. He was mad that I called back again. As far as I’m concerned, Dr. Camyre showed a complete disregard for a patience health and wellbeing. Not to mention the added cost of going to a clinic or a hospital to get relief. Just ridiculous and over something that was easily remedied. I was unable to get any relief that whole weekend. I did not want to go to a clinic or a hospital and beg for some meds. Its undignified and debasing. I can clearly see why Dr. Camyre continues to rack up such low marks for his bedside manner. Not once did he ask me why was I taking the medication or how I was feeling. He displayed absolutely no compassion or empathy and came off as arrogant. Dr. Camyre, If you don’t like your job, perhaps you should find another that suites your character. It certainly is not Family Medicine. The PCP I am now seeing is the best. It’s just too bad there are few others like you that give the profession a bad name.

I have had several different doctors at ECHN over my 49 years. He is RUDE, ARROGANT and LECTURES in a condescending way, accusing me of "not being sick enough" for antibiotics due to a sinus infection...and lectured me about having a physical...even though in the last 18 months, I quit smoking, LOST 10 lbs and had my blood work done, which is 100% good. This guy needs to pick a different profession as I'm DONE with that office that thinks it's ok to treat people like that!

He is the most arrogant , cocky, no bedside manner dr. ( I dont even want to call him a dr) I have ever been to. I came so close to walking out . I will never ever recommend him,, or go back to him.

I have had to call the Doctor's office numerous times for my elderly mom and dad and have been on hold to schedule or reschedule an appointment for no less than 20 minutes. This is very frustrating and leads to a negative experience right from the get go....

I was first introduced to Dr. Camyre after going through a revolving door of "Medical Professionals" at Ellington ECHN Family Practice! I originally started with Ellington Family practice when they first moved into town and opened an office across the street from Ellington Agway! Having to drive all the way into Hartford to see my PCP who eventually, relegated his practice over to his APRN, because he was more interested in real estate than medicine, I decided it was time to make a change, and lo and behold ECHN opened a Practice in Ellington with bright young,caring D.O. which I had never heard of but were just as good as any Dr. I had ever met! Unfortunately this didn't last long, perhaps 3-4 years, until these bright young Professionals realized who they were dealing with and the demands put on them, to see the light that another Practice was far more lucrative for the hours and Patients seen! This continued through at least 5-7 D.O. 's who were all very capable of handling my… medical needs, but I suspect at a lower salary! The final straw was number 7 who was very capable ,but assured by the office Manager at the Ellington unit he was here to stay, and left abruptly thereafter, I sought another ECHN Medical Practice, Namely ECHN Internal Medicine of Vernon and assigned to D.O.Eric Camyre. Who to my surprise was as I am a former Navy Veteran, and introduced himself that way! A no non-sense, tell you like it is Dr. whom I highly respect people like this,who tells you like it medically is and what you have to do to correct your "Malady" , no B. S.! Respectfully, Doug M.

I was really looking forward to meeting Dr. Camyre. The front desk highly recommended him and were adamant that he uses natural venues for treatments. After grilling me about my medical history he prescribed a highly addictive treatment for one of my conditions, telling me to only "take it when you really need to" even though we had just discussed how I've been dependent on over the counter methods for a decade. He rushed my appointment, spoke way too quickly, and assumed I understood medical jargon because of my own (scientific) profession. When I asked him to explain certain treatments or conditions further, he would repeat the things he just said and add "you're smart, you can look it up yourself." He also repeated personal questions I already gave him answers to - indicating that he was not listening to me whatsoever. I left the appointment distressed, anxious, and with a sinking feeling that I was just another number to the Vernon medical group and Dr. Camyre didn't care… about me as an individual. Finally, he called me as a follow up a few days later, rushed though an explanation of a few things he found, and promised the office would call me to set up future appointments. It's now three weeks later, and the office has still not called. The office also did not provide my medical insurance information to a testing lab they sent my results to.
