Dr. Eric Ping Chiang, MD

There seems to be a lack of communication between the front office staff and the doctor, which unfortunately seems common with many medical practices. To some, putting up with this frustration is the only option in order to see the doctor they need. When I was a patient of Dr. Chiang, there seemed to always be issues with getting my refills filled as well as constant calls necessary to get medication approval from my insurance. Office wait time was always almost an hour to be seen by the doctor as well. I finally decided to not be a patient anymore when there was refusal to fill my medication until my next appt. There reasoning was I hadn't been seen yet, however my next appointment was only days away but I had 0 pills left. They seemed to show no care for the fact that such a change would result in severe pain. I can't understand the reasoning behind not even offering a week's worth or days worth of meds until I could be seen. How is your full schedule something I should have to pay… for in pain? When it was found no other rheumatologists were covered under my insurance, I was forced to go back. After working around schedules, paying up front and waiting an hour to be seen, I was then told because I requested previously to see another doctor, Dr. Chiang will no longer see me. This couldn't have been resolved by a phone call? Why waste so much time and energy of a patient in chronic pain? Very very disappointed.

His demeanor is very arrogant. He was very unprofessional sitting in my exam room whispering to the nurse that is required to be with him in the room due to past complaints against him. He didn’t believe I had fluid in my knee until the ultrasound showed it then injected my knee with cortisone.On my next follow up he asked if he had drained the fluid from my knee I said no and his response was oh well I usually do before I inject cortisone. Each visit he made me feel like my health concerns weren’t important as I would explain past and present issues he would say well I had a patient far worse than you and proceed to tell me about the other patient. When he asked if I had a history of miscarriage I said yes one when I was 5 months along and he again stated well that’s not so bad I had a lady that had 6. Seriously doesn’t make me feel like my health was a concern. He looked at me and said you don’t look sick to me. Needless to say I didn’t go back.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Chiang to anyone. He's fantastic! He listens to any problems you may have, and is genuinely concerned about his patients. He has squeezed me into his schedule the same day when needed. If for any reason you need to call the office between appointments the nurse will get back to you right away. I have already recommended him to my sister, who took my advice, and recommends him too! The office is clean and the staff is great!
