Dr. Eric Paul Cote, MD

Title: Dismissed Instead of Diagnosed! I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience because no patient should leave a specialist’s office feeling as dismissed as I did. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Cote because I was experiencing severe back pain and pain in the side of my abdomen. I explained that I was concerned about a kidney infection, bladder infection, or UTI. As a patient, I was looking for a thorough evaluation, answers, and guidance. Instead, the only test performed was a urine test. After explaining that my pain was severe, Dr. Cote told me that if I was hurting that badly, I should go to the hospital because he is “just a urologist” and can only do what he can do. The appointment effectively ended with “have a nice day.” I left feeling completely dismissed. At no point did I feel like my symptoms were taken seriously or that there was any meaningful attempt to help me understand what could be causing my pain or what the next appropriate… steps should be. As a Black African American woman, I cannot help but question whether my concerns would have been handled differently if I were someone else. Whether intentional or not, I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and without the level of compassion and professionalism that every patient deserves. This experience has significantly impacted my trust in this practice. I hope leadership reviews how patients presenting with severe pain are treated because no one seeking medical care should leave feeling abandoned instead of cared for.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cote for a number of years. I have been thoroughly satisfied with his knowledge of his handling me with my kidney stones. I recommend him highly to any prospective patient seeking help in urology.

My surgery from Dr. Cote resulted in complications that lead to an expensive day in the ER and pain and discomfort that I was told could last for weeks.

I personally found Dr. Cote to be very personable. He was nice and seem to care about me. I saw him at the Reynolds Crossing office. Have met good doctors before but Dr. Cote made me feel good on my choice. I would recommend Dr. Cote to anyone. The only negative was in his nursing staff, they weren’t very nice.

I was a patient of Dr. Cote for a large kidney stone. After imaging, he told me that my stone was extremely large and that I would need an invasive surgery. He was dismissive of my emotional reaction to this news. He was unempathetic and made me feel as if he didn’t believe I was in any pain. He immediately referred me to a different surgeon, and I’m so glad. Seeing Dr. Cote again would be too soon. I’m not sure why he has gotten such favorable reviews on here. My stone ended up being almost 7 times smaller and required only a small noninvasive procedure. If you enjoy seeing an unempathetic, curt, and cold physician, he’s your man.

This is the second time I have seen Dr. Cote for a medical problem. First time was 18 years ago. Nothing has changed with him. He is friendly and professional and gets to the root of the problem. It would be hard to find a better doctor.

Thinks outside the box and uses all options available when troubleshooting the high PSA issue.
