Dr. Eric Ralph Frankenfeld, MD

I was referred to Dr. Frankenfeld by my pcp. When I called to make an appointment I was told he was only "seeing" patients remotely or by phone. That was my first concern. I reluctantly went ahead with a phone appointment but didn't feel good about it. I was told they would send me some paperwork to fill out prior to my "appointment". I assumed it would include some type of introduction and also a detailed health questionnaire that he would review before our scheduled conversation. My second concern had to do with the paperwork I received. There was no health questionnaire at all, just four pages detailing what my financial obligation would be and how they expected to be paid. The paperwork itself was of such poor quality I could not even decipher all the words, and there were typographical and spelling errors ("weather" for "whether" i.e.!). At that point I knew I would not trust my health care to a provider with so little concern for professionalism and patient welfare. I cancelled… my appointment. I wouldn't even give this guy one star but had to in able to submit this review... He is beyond "poor".

I went to Dr Frankfeld as he being a specialist in the thyroid field. I was looking forward to this appointment for almost two months to finally get some answers for my situation. Although friendly in his manner he was not interested in my concerns and did not listen to me. I had all my lab results and ultrasound available but he did not even look at them. When I stated my concern about weight gain, he said "if you eat too much you will gain weight". He also prescribed some kind of medication without looking at my lab results. I was in tears when leaving his office. The only saving grace in that office is that the receptionist is very friendly.

Great office if you tell him exactly what you need done. Be very specific and everything will get done. Staff is great

It took days to make an appointment. If you want to get a hold of someone leave a message and they will call you the following day. I have yet to get anyone to answer my call- The receptionist was very nice in person. I was almost in tears within the first two minutes with Dr Frankfeld. I was looking forward to this appointment for almost two months to finally get some answers for my situation. He was not interested in my concerns and did not listen to me. He did not review or order any lab work before giving me the highest dose medicine that my body can physically to take. I still don't know what is going on with my body. I do not trust him to take the prescribed medication dose . I will be seeking a second opinion on my situation

No nonsense here, just a thoughtful exam and diagnosis by a knowledgeable physician.

This doctor is willing to spend a lot of time with the patient. He seems very thoughtful and not hasty in his conclusions or his care. I was very happy with the care I received for a medical condition that I've been dealing with for a long time.

If there were higher ratings than "4" I would rate Dr. Frankenfeld there. My experience with him has been very rewarding. I credit him for saving my life. For instance, in 2006 following lab work Dr. Frankenfeld phoned me at home, 6:30 p.m., informing me I was very anemic. We discussed and he stated an appointment for a colonoscopy would be set up. After the exam I was instructed to go next door for an appt. already set up, with the surgeon. After surgery the surgeon told me the tumor had also metastasized to the liver. Recently I had signs of heart failure and Dr. Frankenfeld stated he could send me to ER and I would be taken in immediately. I refused and said I wanted to stay with him. I'm getting the exams and reports scheduled thru his office and with prescribed meds I am doing very well. He shows an interest in my well being and I never feel neglected, but treated with dignity. I find it easy to discuss things with him. I have recommended Dr. Frankenfeld to both… family and friends. Also, I love nurse Kate and the office staff.

I have been going to this doctor for approx. two years ...he does not seem the least interested in my well being ..most of the time I have to tell him and his staff what tests need to be done and the worse problem is getting them to answer my pharmacy to renew my prescriptions ...I have to call every time to check to see if they have renewed them FIVE days latter ...and I get a hold of IDIOT Katie and she says oh I keep forgetting to renew them ...I am looking for a new doctor to go to that will be covered under my insurance ...stay away from this doctor and his IDIOT nurse ,Katie ...I know this sounds mean to say this about Katie ,the nurse ..but she is the most incompetent nurse I have ever seen ...The doctor has never checked my feet seeing that I am diabetic ..he never advises me on how to improve my A1c ...one time he even had the wrong patient file and was advising me on my insulin ..which I am not ...I could go on and on ...DON'T USE THIS DOCTOR ...YOU ARE BETTER GOING TO A… VETERINARIAN ...

I do not recommond Dr. Frankenfeld to any one, because the lack of commitment following up as needed after my visit and taking care of the details. Dr Frankenfeld must be burned out and so is the main nurse.

This doctor was grossly hypOthyroid appearing during my only appointment with him. In my experience he has no grasp of properly addressing thyroid disorders, and insisted he would prescribe me a medication that I am highly allergic to rather than keep me on the medication I was happy on.
