Dr. Eric Jay Haufrect, MD

Dr. Haufrect has been my OBGYN for over 30 years. He's birthed both my babies and seen to my womanly needs with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail. He is such a gentleman and spends as much time as necessary to answer all my questions and concerns.

Dr Haufrect has taken care of me for years. Great doc!

He comes across very caring and talks more than listens so that you don't have time to ask questions. He likes to push extreme surgeries with the premise that if you don't do it, you will get cancer. He doesn't explain the surgeries well and pushes getting bladder slings by his colleague. Before freaking out, go get a second opinion. Always get a second opinion. He seems really caring but talks too much that you get ushered out of his office pretty fast with your head spinning about what just happened.

BEWARE DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE UPCHARGED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!! Without my consent, Dr. Haufrect sent some "lab tests" to get done and I got a bill afterwards for ~$1000. I never ordered extra tests, nor did he/his nurse inform me of the tests being done and how expensive they would be. What's worse, despite claiming these tests were necessary and refusing to refund me, they never even called me to give me the results!! If the test was so necessary, why didn't they tell me they were doing the test and why didn't they give me the results?! CRAZY! LITERALLY HE STOLE $1000 FROM ME (and I have good insurance)!! HOW IS THIS LEGAL?

I absolutely love Dr. Haufrect. It it were not for him I would have gotten a hysterectomy at age 23. Not only was he able to solve my issue with a minimally invasive surgery and save my uterus, but he has also proven to me over and over again that my health and overall well being is a priority. I have been with him 16 years and have never met a more patient and personable doctor. He is truly a blessing to the medical profession and is the only doctor I have trusted and will trust with this part of my healthcare. I would recommend him to anyone seeking professional and quality care.

Dr. Half react has seen me through wellness exams, delivered my two children, and performed two major surgeries on me and gracefully and discreetly saw my daughter for her first gynecological check-up. He has overseen my care with referrals to other marvelous Methodist doctors. He is prompt and always spends a lot of time with me. I appreciate that he tells me exactly what he is writing in my chart as he does it. I never have a problem with reaching him when we have had late-night emergencies, even when he is not on call. I simply adore and have literally trusted him with my life and my children. He is a gentle, caring person, a phenomenal physician and a Houston treasure.

It is a 45 min drive each way, and I waited 45 minutes to be seen. The waiting room was overcrowded, in fact when I got in line to sign in, there were NO chairs available. There is no TV, only pregnancy magazines(all old.) I looked at my watch when he came in the exam room - he spent a little under 5 minutes for a year exam!!! No small talk - no "how's your life"?I felt rushed, exam felt impersonal-after many, many years, I am looking for another gyno (one who takes his/her time and doesn't treat me like #37 at Dunkin Donuts.)

I Love Dr. Haufrect and I have been a patient of his for a few years. He always takes the time to listen and his office staff is wonderful, his office is open from 9-5pm and you will always get a live person not machines. BUT, his nurse is the worse, she never returns your calls & when she does it seems like you are taking her time. Sad.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Haufrect, and was ignorantly happy, as long as nothing was wrong. Yearly pap smears, and went on my way - no time needed for consultation. However, now that something is wrong,and I need explanation, there is none. I am transferring to someone that will take the time to diagnose and explain to me what is happening.

Today was my first appointment with Dr. Haufrect, and I was very impressed. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns and answer all of my questions. He also checked aspects of my health that I had not previously realized could affect my ability to conceive. He was also interested in me as a person and made me feel 100% comfortable throughout the visit.
