Dr. Eric Jon Homberg, MD

Dr Homberg did a nerve block in my back and it is amazing how much it helped. I am a runner and fitness buff so back pain has limited what I could do. I still should not run but can bike and look forward to running again soon. He's professional, friendly and skilled - I definitely recommend him.

Don't consider going. This doctor disagreed with my diagnoses--outside his specialty and confirmed by multiple physicians--told me nothing was wrong with me, told me I was a drug addict with no reason to do so (I am compliant, honest, and take meds as prescribed to reduce my pain enough to function, not because I enjoy taking them), is unaware that waiting long periods of time while sitting up in a chair is excruciating to patients in real pain, and abandoned me. He did not document any of this in my record, but it still did lasting damage to my care and to me that cannot be fixed. Patients have no protection from doctors anymore. State medical boards need to respond seriously to complaints against doctors like this but don't.

I have no idea whether he's any good for interventional pain issues. But if that's not your problem (localized pain) and you have pain issues from systemic disease where localized treatments won't work then this guy's not the person to see. Judgmental, inconsistent, moody, and what happened to us I wouldn't wish on anyone. Sadly, in Jackson Tn. you don't have much in the way of options and this type care is abysmal. Find a good internist if you can.

Dont waste your time and money unless u are old and rich left in pain

I have been seeng Dr. Homberg for the past 2 years. I have had numerous appointments for cortesone shots and pain management medications. He was of great help during this time. He always spent time to listen to me explain my pain. His nursing staff were always helpful. I am now pqin free so no longer need his services since having hip replacement surgery. I would recommend his practice to anyone who needs pain relief.

First visit, waited over 2 hours, but the doctor seemed caring and thorough. Second visit waited nearly 3 hours in waiting room, another 45 minutes in exam room before finally leaving because the long wait sparked an anxiety attack in my husband (he is the patient). Called to reschedule, the office staff was very apologetic and nice. Went to the third appointment, we were brought straight into the exam room, doctor came in immediately and rather than being concerned or apologetic about the situation, informed us that we needed to go to another doctor if we were not patient enough to wait for him, that he doesn't treat patients like cattle, but wants to spend the time to do a thorough exam, etc. Overall, this doctor cost me 2 full days of work time, and had the attitude that he is such a good doctor that people should be willing to wait any amount of time to see him. If not, he doesn't want them as patients. I will be filing complaints with my insurance company, the hospital he is… affiliated with, the medical board that certifies him, and the licensing entity in Tennessee. I also work in the health field, and several people have complained about the same thing. Any expertise he may have as a doctor is completely overshadowed by his uncaring, unethical attitude toward making patients wait hours to be seen. He needs to wake up and realize that it is not just his time that is valuable, his patients feel their time is valuable too. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone based on his attitude. Never really got a chance to see if he is a good doctor or not, but based on his attitude I would be very, very careful trusting anyone I cared about to him.
