Dr. Eric W Hooley, MD

Dr Hooley is one of the best back surgeons in the western United States. I've known him personally and professionally for many years, and he's a very honest and upstanding doctor. He performed an emergency trauma surgery on my spine when I broke my back in 2016, and he did a top-notch job. Both my father and cousin have had back surgery's performed by Dr Hooley with excellent results. Dr Hooley is a professional, friendly, and competent doctor. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Hooley performed a back fusion. Very successful. Would highly recommend him

Almost impossible to get to talk to after surgery. Little information about details of recovery, especially how long it would take.

I have been very pleased with Dr Hooley and Ben. They treated me with respect and answered all my questions and fears.

Had a discectomy performed by this dr. I never got better. They did a follow up mri that showed my disc was re bulged. His PA (Hooley won't see you after surgery only his PA) said Hooley says that is normal and their is nothing else they can do. Know wait a minute wasn't he suppose to fix my bulged disc? Went to another dr a specialist on spine surgery (notice Hooley is listed as an orthopedic dr. Not spinal surgeon) ended up needing a fusion that took 3 hours because he had to fix Hooleys mess. My disc was not only herniated out the side but also the back of my spine. Dr. Said it was because of what Hooley had done. Stay away from this Dr. He doesn't know what he is doing.

I recently had surgery by Dr. Eric Hooley. My back is worse now. The dr will only see you before you have surgery after that he pushes you off to his PA & will not see you again. He tells the PA what to do after you fill out a questioner before your visit that is all a, b or c questions which don't really let you pick an accurate description of whats going on with you. If he really reads these & has the time to read & discuss the answers while you are sitting in the waiting room why couldn't he just see you? They tell you before surgery he will answer your calls & questions but after surgery they give you a paper saying how busy he is @ doesn't have time to answer all his patients calls so to just talk to his PA. At the 8 week mark I still wasn't better so the PA told me the Dr. Suggests to all his patients at the 8 week mark to see a psychiatrist they recommend because their is nothing else they can do. They pretty much wash their hands of you after they have gotten the big… bucks from surgery & need to get rid of you so they can make room for the next victim. Staff was kind & courteous at the first visit. After that they were rude & short with us. Especially the blond one I think her name was Daisy. I had 4 appointments after my surgery, requested to talk to Hooley at one, since he did my surgery not the PA, they said it was on my chart and I would at the next appointment but the day of told me I could only see the PA because their were other patients that needed to see Hooley. What good is seeing someone that wasn't even in their during surgery?? Since the surgery I have more pain and a bum leg that they won't help me find the answers why. Just want me to go to a psychiatrist because apparently he is God & the pain is all in my head since this perfect man did my surgery & their is no way he could not have fixed it. Funny since I seem to remember before the surgery he said some people don't get results & they have to do something else.. guess the someting else is to slap a lable on you saying you are crazy & washing their hands from you.
