Dr. Eric Michael Kaplan, MD

Dr.Kaplan is always on time, and time is always accounted for during my appointment . He didn’t need my self diagnosis to help me. I’m having great success with Dr. Kaplan. So much, that I’m passing free VA! Dr. Kaplan, “the man with the plan”

I saw Dr. Kaplan for almost 2 years. During my first appointment almost 2 years ago I had concerns about possibly having ADHD, along with other things. While he addressed the other things, Dr. Kaplan immediately assumed I did not have it because I am a successful student. It was not until about two months ago that I was able to get the diagnosis and medication I actually needed. I felt like my concerns were never completely addressed, and I felt like I was being talked down to a lot of the time. Dr Kaplan comes off condescending. I also get the sense that he is one of those psychiatrists that just wants to pump people full of pharmaceuticals. Also, he is horrible at communication. I had to call him half a dozen times to get one of my medications refilled last month. Despite this, the last time I missed one of his phone calls between appointments he had the audacity to say "I wish you'd pick up your phone." While he has been helpful in some regards, I do not recommend him.

Dr. Kaplan has been nothing but helpful, friendly and positive- I found him from a similar review site years ago and owe the same to others. He is very easy to speak with, understanding and seeks true therapy instead of continually prescribing more and more drugs like my former doctors. Through his care, I have significantly (>60%) decreased my medications and continue to show progress without any issue on my part.

Dr. Kaplan is truly an unusual provider. He was courteous and professional in every way. Promotes patient participation in the treatment process to the greatest degree possible. I normally judge physicians very harshly, but I am impressed.
