Dr. Eric E Kirksson, MD

Had an EMG with Dr. Kirksson, for a problem that has taken me to several specialists in the past 3 months. He explained everything he was doing during the procedure, what it meant, what the prognosis was, and what I could do about the problem. I'd had an MRI before coming to him for the EMG and brought a photo of that scan; it helped our conversation. He answered every one of my questions and I left very grateful for his professionalism and with Summit Orthopedic.

I had the best experience with Dr. Kirksson. Granted he had all my previous reports from previous Dr. visits he reviewed everything. He did a physical exam and concluded it was my hip not lumbar spine. The injection into the hip was the best thing for my pain. He did a great job. ALMOST painless. But a great job. If I have to continue to have treatments I am coming back to see him. I am smiling again because I have hardly any pain. THANK YOU so much for the great care. Happy Holidays

After experiencing a lot of chronic pain and having trepidation for this procedure, I can say it was made as comfortable and quick as possible. Dr. Kirksson was calm, helpful and kept me informed of what was happening the entire time.

Dr. Kirksson is top notch! He diagnosed my condition when no one else could and he relieved my unrelenting L4-L5-S1 pain. I have been receiving spinal injections for the past three years and HIGHLY recommend him. He is AMAZINGLY AWESOME, compassionate, fully listens to my concerns, involves me in the overall treatment plan and has EXCELLENT bed-side manner. Very thorough in explaining and demonstrating with models what is causing the pain...and offering options. Following the procedure, I was pain-free.

My appt. was set for 12:30p on Sept. xx ‘17. I read the pre-procedure materials and didn’t eat breakfast nor take any med’s prior to the procedure as directed. By 12:30p I would have done anything for even a few drops of water and some food so not to pass out. I asked the nurse where the Dr. was and she said that he was not back from lunch, which he takes at 12:30p. WHAT! She said, "well he does need his nutrition but many others have complained". I asked why he would schedule my procedure at the same time as HIS lunch and she said "I don't know but will pass along your concerns as I have with others". 90 min+ after my assigned time the Dr. walks in casually. No apology thus very routine and complete lack of concern for others' time and pain. I tried to ask my many ?? about side effects, risks, etc. and he just laughed and said "One in hundreds of millions die". I did not sign the consent form and no one noticed. He said, "I'll be back in 5 min., 10 at most". I next saw him in… the procedure room almost an hour later. The nurse was prepping the side of my neck yet the Dr. clearly marked my back. I had to correct her (or it would have taken who knows who long to get him back again). After the injection I asked him about the above concerns, in front of 3-4 other staff, and he gave a quick condescending non-answer and left saying "It’s more complex than that". Huh? I had no relief after the injection and has been progressively worse. I had read many other online reviews that said he is always late but now they are replaced with 5 star, over-the-top reviews. Suspicious!

Dr. Kirksson was very informative about my condition and my procedure. He and the staff wanted to ensure that I was comfortable with as little anxiety about the procedure as possible. Dr. Kirksson also went so far as to ensure we tried a different approach the second time I went in for an injection, as the first one only lasted a 9 days. He thought if we changed it up a little we may have a better result. Since the 2nd injection, I am at 9 days and am still doing well. Fingers crossed that this one will last much much longer. Dr, Kirksson and his staff are amazing and pleasant and very comforting. They all show genuine concern for my concerns and wellbeing. I would send anyone to see him. This is the way healthcare should be experienced.
