Dr. Eric Kozfkay, DO

Wondering if he open up a new place yet I was very happy on how he handles his way of helping you deal with your pain he is truly miss …. Guess I have to live with this pain with no help please come back

So I have seen him 5 times in the last 3 years for lower sciatic joint pain. He recommended a cortisone shot. I felt fine after I left. About 45 minutes later I felt like I got hit by a truck . The pain was so excruciating I could not walk for 3 months I never went back again. Until just recently. I was referred back to the pain clinic and they told me that I had to keep the same dr. I get there and he doesn’t even sit down and talk to me or ask me questions. I have been in pain for the last 3 years from this sciatic joint and was forced to resign from my job because of this and I am stuck in the dark he has not given me any kind of answers

Is not very passionate did a horrible job explaining things on my fiance initial visit. When he asked a question he didn't answer it and just looked at him. Changed my prescription to his pain meds without telling my us.

Currently under Dr K's care, he is very patient, and takes the time to explain the issues at hand with me. Very professional, and compassionate. The staff at The Holland branch are always nice, and take good care of keeping my info private.

I have been seeing Dr. Kozfkay for quite some time. Probably for the last 7 years now for my 3 herniated discs. I honestly have not had any issues with him. He actually does listen to the patients problems and issues. Every visit I had he has asked me if anything new was to report, he goes over my MRI results, my Xrays, he sits and listens to what I have to say, he gives me his opinions, he actually does review my complaints. He also does physically checks my back by having me do some bends and twists to pin point where the actual pain is at. Dr. K is to me a great doctor. This recent visit him and I sat and discussed the possibility of stem cell procedure that is supposed to help heal the degenerative disc disease. He gave me some helpful pointers, told me what to expect and what not to expect, he gave me some helpful information to bring home and he indicated that I do all the research on this procedure before making up my mind. Plus he indicated that if I needed to make an… appointment with him to go over it i am able to do so. His office staff are always so nice and pleasant to talk to. Never had any issues with his staff or nurses. Once I accidentally called my script in for a refill without knowing I had another refill before it was due to be filled and his nurse took it upon herself to call me and ask if I needed it sooner and to see how I was doing. I spent nearly a half hour discussing it with her on the phone and she was more than helpful

I had been seeing this doctor for almost 5 years after several MRI's, pain shots and medication his nurse finally made a comment about stenosis come to find out i have had Chairi 1 malformation all this time and he didn't think it was important or relevant to tell me. Same as others being in the same room with him was intimidating.... so i see a neurosurgeon have the surgery which helped for about 3 months only to be back with bone spurs and my chairi still below my tonsils and causing even more havoc on my body. this doctor is more than happy to do injections all day opposed to actually listening to the patient. the epidural injection caused a CSF leak and a staph abscess neither of which he would take responsibility for refused to return my calls then took my pain meds down to one a day as if i did something wrong because i complained about him. i have requested my medical records and am moving to a different pain clinic. everyone is right he doesn't listen, he is condescending, the… nurses are rude and my pain went from manageable to unbareable after seeing him. I dont want to be on pain meds for the rest of my life i want to be fixed, i take several all natural meds every morning to one pain pill and he made me feel like some junkie, like i am crazy to be in this much pain....after all he is perfect and does nothing wrong. horrible horrible horrible experience. i do NOT recommend this doctor.

I have been a patient for about a year or so, and whenever I did see Dr. Kozfkay, he spoke to me in a very condescending way and acted as if he never heard a word! I tried to lighten the mood and give him a nice compliment or two, and I swear the man never cracks a smile! Going back to his care, as soon as something would work, he would stop, and make my health and pain go backwards, almost like it was planned to make me having to go back by giving me different dosing? I was always good about my appointments, but apparently if you miss an appointment because you are in the hospital, or when I came in once, (day 3 days before my next appointment) and they said they would reschedule it because I was just in...They did not cancel it like they said, and blamed me! Why would I go in 3 days later, and even was given my Rx's already... But its my fault and considered a "no show"? I also had a nurse call me and be extremely rude and tell me I would be discharged due to the "no show" and if you… have a seizure or a hospital stay, there is no excuse. Keep in mind, I have been there probably 50 times, and so a few missed (and understandably missed mostly), is just a drop in a very large bucket! I stayed because I was under the impression that he was the only pain doctor in the area. Plus, changing docs is a pain anyway with all the paperwork, but it would have been worth it! If he ever treated me like a human being, I may have cared, but instead he was pompous and had his nurse doing his dirty work. They got paid either way, so why was I the one getting yelled at by a nurse (who is maybe half my age), and who does not have respect for ANYONE especially a patient with heart problems, just as the doctor and most of the staff! I will say, there is a PA (Becky), who listened, cared, and was extremely helpful. I wish I could have had her all the time too. She actually was there more often, than he ever was. Also, BY LAW, they have to give you meds & treatment for 30 days from discharge so you have time to find another provider. Apparently, he and his office is above the law as well, because they said they can do whatever they choose! Sorry, I THOUGHT THEY MADE LAWS TO PROTECT PATIENTS, NOT MAKE DOCTORS LAZY AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!?

He never listens to me, he is very intimidating and overpowers our conversations. I never get to have any input on my own pain management plan, and the combo of treatment that I am receiving now is working to a certain extent but instead of tweaking it a little...he wants to completely stop it and do something else. I have three children under 6yrs of age I need to function. I am scared out of my whits end and stressed beyond belief. It is bad enough to suffer with your life in the hands of chronic pain, why I must ask do I also have to suffer with the life of my family in the hands of a self righteous Doctor who has no idea what its like to live in chronic pain.
