Dr. Eric Mitchell Leibert, MD

Dr. Leibert is very professional and knowledgeable. Over the past two years he has been very supportive and helpful to me.

I went to see Dr. Leibert during the height of Covid. I have illness induced asthma and felt horrible. Dr. Leibert, who is stretched super thin with treating covid patients and working in the ICU, spent 45 minutes with me - and was so caring and helpful. He managed to fit me in despite really having no time in his schedule, and went above and beyond to make sure I would get healthy.

Dr Eric Leibert saved my life

During a visit, when we took one of our out of town drivers to see him, all Dr. Leibert did was stare at my cleavage; all the while asking our worker questions, but looking at me, or rather my breasts! My husband and I decided to forgive this offense and I reluctantly made appointments for the both of us! I had just seen my primary physician for a quick emergency appointment as I was in the Greenwich Emergency Room. Dr. Leibert took it upon himself to look up my records (from my primary, and not with Yale or Greenwich, but with NYU Langone). Dr. Leibert exclaimed in a very rude and obnoxious manner "you're a walking time bomb, that can explode any minute!" Referring to what I already knew, Hypertension, the once Hypoglycemia I suffered from was now the beginning of Diabetes (which I have known for over 40 years), and my Cholesterol was high. I recently found out I am allergic to Soy, and so my husband set out to find foods which do not contain it, it's daunting how many… foods, breads, crackers, cereal and so much more contain it! As such I modified my diet and lost 7 pounds. At 5' 8", now weighing 155, is not that horrible! I already had plans to speak with my physician later that day about my results. We did, and he put me on a medication regime until my full physical later this month! Dr. Leibert also made disparaging comments about my sweet Italian Mama, who passed 15 years ago, not knowing me, and especially not knowing one thing about her, he said "well her cigarette smoking must have contributed to her demise!" We were all born in Italy, very strict Italian-Catholic family. My mother cooked, cleaned, took care of us, when we were sick, had a tea for everything, she never smoked a cigarette in her life, nor did she drink! How dare this person, who calls himself a physician say such things! Lastly, he refers every patient he sees to have a PFT test performed, and was upset when the doctor at Greenwich hospitalized me for the Flu, and because I was not getting enough oxygen, had to be admitted. Dr. Leibert was upset that the doctor who admitted me didn't call him for a consult!!! Utterly and completely ridiculous! Will not be going back! EVER!

Dr Leibert has been seeing me for over a year. He is extremely thorough in his explanations and has an excellent patient/doctor manner. I find him commendable in every respect.
