Dr. Eric Lewkowiez is an assistant professor in the Division of Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatry. He received his MD degree from the University of South Carolina and an MS in Microbiology and Immunology from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Lewkowiez came to Georgia Health Sciences University in 2003, after 3 years of private practice in Columbia, SC. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. He functions primarily as Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Teaching Clinic and Medical Supervisor to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Consultation/ Liaison Service. His teaching areas include Basic Pediatric Psychopharmacology, Advanced Pediatric Psychopathology, Development, and ADHD. Dr. Lewkowiez's clinical areas of interest include ADHD, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and Mood …Disorders. He is also very interested in medical student education and advocating for children. He was recently elected Member-at- Large for the Executive Committee of the Georgia Council for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

I have found him to be ver, very good. The nature of his profession requires that he play many roles for the patient. Parent is one of them. He can play these roles well. Hang in there and deal with your reactions and you will come out better able to deal with the world. Take tour meds, too. Adjustments may be needed, but you are likely to get it right, and get better.

Short tempered psychiatrist that does not know how to do his job. The wait time is unbearable, the staff are rude, he does NOT like for his patients to get a second opinion as he is convinced he is never wrong. He misdiagnosed my kid with asperger syndrome, which he was reevaluated and does NOT have. This man IS certifiable, but not to practice medical treatment. He needs his license REVOKED.

Rude to patients based on gender race an sexuality. Easily angered. Refuses to write prescriptions. Makes fake appointments. Lies about patients disorders. Want to hospitalize patient for no reason. Does not recommend. Staff and billing dpt are very rude also street talk. :-[

Very caring doctor. Helped my kids a lot. Great help with medication and sensitive to side effects. Recommeded him to my friend for her child and she was happy, too!
