Dr. Eric David Lubliner, MD

I had a visit with Dr. Lubliner at City MD Bedstuy for a PCR test due to suspected exposure to Covid-19. Unfortunately, It was probably the worst experience I have had my entire life with a doctor. Not only was extremely rude, condescending, and gaslighted my request to have both a Rapid test as well as a PCR, his bedside manners were atrocious. (I had only gone to Med Rite at the time in NYC which gave both Rapid & PCR if you asked. In other drive-thru testing sites, I had gotten a PCR--accurate and far less painful and more well-executed than the one performed by Dr. Lubliner at his time at City MD BedStuy--from professionals who were not MDs, but kind nurses.) During the entire exchange, he belittled my intelligence by telling me that "it is a myth" that a Rapid test is less accurate than a PCR test. He repeated to me that he was a "doctor" and emphasized that even if I were to get a PCR test "nothing would be different" in how I would use that information. Horrible. Horrible. I… felt incredibly de-humanized. While I may have caught him at the tail end of an exhausting day, I hope that no one has to deal with someone who could be so unkind and unabashedly showing his passion fatigue. My 11 year old daughter saw Dr. Eric Lubliner at our local City MD on Court Street in Cobble Hill. His negligence was like nothing I have ever encountered. 1. He failed to ask if her father, who brought her to the visit, has medical custody or had knowledge of her medical history — he is not and he does not. He simply brought her because I could not leave work. 2. He failed to ask how many chest x-rays she has had in the past (too many to count, her pediatricians have made clear she should not have any more except for in extreme situations), and prescribed one even though her energy is high and she has no fever. 3. He performed the x-ray without asking for permission from a custodial parent. When the x-ray was negative, he prescribed prednisone without asking if she has ever had an adverse reaction, which she has. 4. He refused to speak with me on the phone once I found out what was happening, even when I told him I have medical custody, and told me to “listen to my husband.” (My… child’s father has not been my husband in years). 5. When I became upset that he would not listen to me or explain the results of my child's x-ray to me, he left the room and refused to speak with me.
