Dr. Eric Andrew Lung, MD

I saw Dr. Lung in the E.R. and was diagnosed with pleurisy. My direct experience with him was okay. However, I just recently received my first bill from his office for date of service over a year ago. I have a health savings account and a high deductible. Upon calling his office to question why I am just now receiving a statement, they put the blame on my insurance company (no surprise): I was told they filed the claim in a timely manner- that the insurance company sent them a check for the claim but only recently sent an explanation of benefits. They claimed they "sat" on the check from insurance all of this time because they could not process it without the EOB to know where to allocate the payment......This is about the most the most ABSURD excuse I've heard from a doctor's office to place blame elsewhere and not take responsibility over not filing the claim in a timely fashion. Now, I have to scramble to try to figure out all of my claims from a year ago and figure out who… potentially was over paid, request reimbursement, etc. It's not fair or ethical. Patients BEWARE.

Dr. Lung saw my wife yesterday in the ER. She had an acute issue that was causing her extreme pain. Dr. Lung quickly grasped the situation, reassured her and calmed her down, and then took care of the problem. He was very busy in the ER but made the time to take care of her and put her at ease. First class doctor.

This physician did not accurately diagnose me and sent me home with a serious condition which caused me great pain, discomfort, an extended hospital stay (due to peritonitis), and avoidable consequences. I ended up back in a different ER 2 days later where they diagnosed me right away and sent me to emergency surgery. This physician did not listen to me when I explained my symptoms and pain. He did not address my concerns and sent me home with an antacid saying I had a stomach ache. I felt like I was an inconvenience and like he didn't believe me.
