Dr. Eric John Mallico

I've had a few surgeries over the past couple years each by Dr. Eric J. Mallico, MD. He's become more of a friend rather than a doctor. I've seen alot of doctors over the past two year with my medical journey. This man right here has been there since day one, he is the best Surgeon/Doctor at Novant hands down. I trust this man, and his team with my life each and every time with every procedure they have performed. (~7 times)

Dr. Mallico and all of his staff are wonderful people to work with. They are very sensitive and encouraging. They listen and understand their overweight patients struggles. Their program is not a quick fix. If you want a quick fix this is not for you. Their program takes dedication. You receive a lot of help and guidance. And sometimes a kick in the rear, which I needed, to help motivate positive changes to get to a healthier you. Weight loss surgery is a tool. It is life changing. I have lost over 100lbs. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Dr. Mallico and his team, (Gretchen, Kristy, Michelle), and his nurses who are quick to give you a hug when you have had a bad week or simply to encourage you. All of them helped me get to this point and I know they will be there for me in the future as I continue to loose weight.

Accurate diagnosis and surgical treatment saved my life. A delay of a few more hours and I probably wouldn't have made it off the table.

He is the best of the best.

One of if not the most knowledgeable doctors I've ever met, and he made me feel like his only patient. I will recommend him to all my friends and family.

Dr. Mallico performed emergency surgery on me almost a year ago. I found him to be very knowledgeable and caring in providing treatment. His bedside manner was good. He had a delightful personality and brightened my day with his visits.

Excellent physician, but you had better plan on a long wait. When I finally gave up waiting, I was one of several patients that simply gave up and left.He has so many folks waiting, I guess that won't matter to him, but to me an appointment is an appointment. If an emergency arose, that would be one thing, and you would expect to be told that there was an emergency, and there would be a delay of xxx... Before giving up, I asked receptionist how much longer I would have to wait for an appointment that was more than an hour past due, and she replied, we're backed up, we don't know.He must be a proud man, to believe that EVERY customer should wait in line an excessive amount of time to see him! This would be the Dr to see if you are unemployed and don't have to work for a living or something. Otherwise, plan on getting in trouble at work if you took time off to see him.If you read this Dr. Mallico, please understand how your patients see your arrogance.

NOT A GOOD DOCTOR DOES'NT CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS . AFTER SURGERY CARE WAS HORRIBLE! I HAD THREE ADDITIONAL SURGERIES. TO FIX WHAT DR. ERIC MALLICO IN ALBEMARLE,NC. HAD MESSED UP. ALSO, THE DIAGNOSES THAT HE KEPT ON ,AND ON SAYING I HAD I DID NOT HAVE ! AND TO THIS DAY THEIR OFFICE HAS NEVER CALLED OR WRITTEN TO SEE HOW I WAS OR HOW I HAVE BEEN DOING .HMM..IRONIC TO SAY THE LEAST ! STILL WONDERING WHAT HAPPEDEN TO THE PART WHERE HE PROMISED ME THAT EVERTHING WOULD BE FINE AND HE WOULD TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF ME.STILL IN PAIN TO THIS DAY , IT HAS CAUSED OTHER PROBLEMS. AND ONE OF THE SURGERIES HE DONE ON ME . HAS GONE BACK TO DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. SO , BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD ON THAT AGAIN . I DO HAVE NIGHTMARES FROM MY EXPERIENCE IN THE HOSPITAL ,I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE.
