Dr Metz is an excellent ortho doctor. He explains everything quite well and spends all the time necessary with his patients to be sure they understand what they are facing during surgery. He has replaced both of my hips and the operations and recovery went well. He sincerely cares about his patients and their recovery.

At JPMC Dr. Metz operated on my knee to repair a torn meniscus in the summer of 2009. The surgery went well with pretty quick recovery. Nearly 2 years later I can report my knee is in good shape without the pain I had long endured prior to the surgery. I was given good explanation of the situation, the necessity of the surgery and how it would be done, and advised of the expected outcome. If Ineeded another surgery, I would not hesitate to seek him out.

Dr. Metz takes time to explain all procedures, what needs to be done, length of recovery, etc. He does not believe in unnecessary surgery. Great experience with this doctor. When I was in the hospital with 2 broken legs, he came in after church on Sunday to make sure I was ok.

I am a RN who was a patient and worked with Dr.Metz at JPMC. I found Dr. Metz to be very caring and very professional. I would not hesitate to have him diagnois or operate on me or my family. I reccomend Dr. Metz highly. He is missed by doctors and staff alike at JPMC.
