Be aware. Dr. Milefchik causes his tenants extreme harm and doesn’t care about the dangerous conditions. His actions are unconscionable, especially for a doctor.

I would highly recommend Dr. Milefchik as he listens attentively and lets me ask all my questions no matter how out there they might seem. I don’t feel rushed and really appreciate his wealth of knowledge and experience. I feel that he believes me, which is refreshing after dealing with being dismissed for years. I can talk to him about anything and appreciate his kindness.

Dr. Milefchick saved my life. I had two near fatal deaths in the hospital from different forms of lupus flares, sepsis from the centralized catheter that was removed... on my birthday. My lungs had collapsed and a code blue was called on me. The technicians and nurses were frantically running around me and told me I went unconscious. This was the beginning of my second Lupus-Induced hospitalization. While I found out later how other doctors told their nurses how I ‘was a goner”, Milefchick stayed the course despite me being in the ICU (intensive care unit). Dr. Milefchick is one of the very rare doctors that understands my severe lupus, and me. He is truly KIND, AUTHENTIC, and GENUINE, TRUSTWORTHY. This doctor LISTENS very WELL, does not minimize my situation and circumstances in any way and does not cut you off mid-sentence. The reason I say this because several doctors constantly minimize your lupus symptoms and many think it’s ‘all in your head” and tell you to “think… more positively” (if people got lupus from not “thinking positively” at all times, trust me, EVERYONE in this world would have lupus). Additionally, many doctors contain a vast amount of knowledge in their minds, but lack the Wisdom of applying their knowledge accordingly to different situations. Thankfully, Milefchick has WISDOM too. Milefchick in another way of saying, acknowledges the TRUTH of the severity of my condition and never cajoles me into ‘reconsidering’ the truth of it (whatever other words other health professionals use to justify their actions). He also acknowledges in both verbal and non-verbal communication that I am indeed a fighter, which is not as common as one would think, while being up against the degree I’ve had to suffer from lupus. While the average doctor cares not, Dr. Milefchick exceeds all expectations in his words and actions ... and it shows. I know this doctor’s schedule fills up a great deal (other doctors make their schedules up to clients), but give this person a chance. In this case, it is worth the wait. He will spend the quality time with you which you deserve. He won’t rush you out the door and finish your sentences for you.

I needed to get some paperwork from Milefchik for my insurance company. I called and asked for the paperwork. The staff member I talked to said she would leave a copy in my file and I could pick it up any time. I asked if they could fax it, but she said no. I asked if I could send a self-addressed, stamped envelope. She said yes. Over two weeks passed, and I received nothing. I called again, and, after explaining the situation, was bounced around to two other people. The last one was quite short with me and spoke as though I was making unreasonable requests. She said they never received my SAS envelop (I have a hard time believing that, since they never seem to have trouble when I mail them a check). I said I would just come pick up the paperwork instead and asked if it was ready. She said it should be. By now having a dubious opinion of the office staff's efficiency, I asked her to check to make sure. She said she was sure it was fine. I insisted. She then said she… couldn't and that I would have to wait for a nurse to call me back. It took six hours and two phone calls from me for that to happen. When I finally did talk to the nurse, it turned out that no, the records weren't in my file. (So basically, the first person I talked to lied about putting the paperwork in and the next would have had me come in to pick up nothing.) The nurse said the paperwork would be prepared by the next day and I could get it then. When I came in, I asked the desk clerk to explain some of the data to me. She was very short with me and didn't respond verbally to my questions, instead pointing irritably at where the information was on the sheet. I'm sorry I'm not a nurse and don't know what the medical codes mean. Since all of my questions took a total of about 30 seconds, I can understand her frustration with me. Clearly I was being unreasonable. :P I will never go back to this office.

90+ min. wait time for both appointments. No apology/explanation. Didn't address my medical issue.

Dr. Milefchik was assigned to me at Torrance Memorial hospital and I could not have been happier. He was very patient with a otherwise scared patient. He put at ease. He was so patient, helpful and understanding. He even worried about me when he was on vacation. He is fabulous. He gives you his full attention. He is one of the best! He also has a terrific staff in his practice. They are courteous and very professional and yet very warm.

Great Doctor...When I leave a appointment, I always feel at ease with my health and know that I am in good hands with Dr. Milefchik...

Dr. Milefchik is great. His nurse/assistant is too. He spends time with you asking you thorough questions. He has very good doctors in the area to refer you to for specific issues. He was referred to me by my father-in-law who was referred to him by Torrance Memorial Hospital. I had another general practitioner who had no bedside manner and did not seem up to speed. I am very happy to be a patient of Dr. Milefchik.
