Make sure to ask for them to Point out what is not going to be billed to your insurance. You would think your hearing testing would be included in your routine check up since he is a hearing specialist. Just awful!

I went with my husband to the ear nose and throat doctor today. I mentioned to the doctor that my husband has never seen a specialist before and I thought he needed a checkup at the least. While discussing the snoring issues he is having I was surprised that the doctor recommended my husband have a surgery to remove his tonsils that he already indicated looked normal and he needed to “trim” his uvula. He said this needed to be done prior to him having a sleep study. He said his uvula was slightly swollen and stretched. I mentioned that I had a septoplasty a few years ago and never knew I had a deviated septum and I can breathe so much better now. He then at that moment looked up my husbands nose and said he needed that surgery as well. He mentioned he would remove his tonsils, trim his uvula, septoplasty all in one surgery. My husband has never had surgery before so we have no idea how his body responds to anesthesia or clotting! That shocked me when he said it would be in one surgery.… He did have to clean out some wax in his ears since they were stopped up. He said his ear drums were not inflamed but he felt he needed to test his hearing. He had a lady take him out of the room to test his hearing and a few minutes later he came back and discussed allergy testing and left the room. A lady came in and started giving us surgery instructions and advised us to speak with the lady that files the insurance and see what our out of pocket expenses would be. That lady was very nice and explained the charges will be higher at their facility because they are not contracted with a surgery center. She only gave us that information since I explained I just had this done a couple years ago and shocked at our out of pocket expense. She said we would get a separate bill from the anesthesiologist, the hospital, and their doctor as well. She wouldn’t be able to provide me with a detailed estimate and described her handwritten “rough estimate” was all she could provide. We then politely declined and proceed to checkout. We were prepared to pay the $50 copay but everything else was in line for a routine new patient assessment. We were charged $43 for the lady to check his left ear and $52 to check his hearing in his right ear. The charge was absurd. Checking a new patients hearing is routine in this field (yes I called others)! They would not give me a printed receipt of what my payment today covered either. I will be reporting them as soon as I receive the explanation of benefits from my insurance company. When I had my procedure a few years ago at Arkansas Otolaryngology in Little Rock off of Kanis my surgery cost a fraction because they are contracted with the outpatient surgery center and there isn’t all of the third party fees! Do your homework!!!

When he walked in he literally looked at me and sighed ask me about my problems I tell him at the end of all the visit he says well I don't know what to tell you sometimes our ears just make noises literally talking to me as he's backing out of the room never says bye never says he was done the nurse comes in hands me the paper and says sorry we couldn't do anything for you that was it...waste of money

FELT RUSHED AND OFFICE STAFF WAS NOT FRIENDLY. I FELT LIKE MONEY WAS PRIORITY INSTEAD OF PATIENT CARE.

First visit excellent diagnosis on our Son, and everyone was very nice & professional.

I had already seen two different doctors for my problem; one general doctor and one ENT. After dealing with my persistent issue I decided to seek another professional's advice. Dr. Monte gave me a different diagnosis and with treatment, my problem was taken care of. Very attentive to my concerns and questions. Helpful staff.
