Eric Pletcher, MD

Eric R. Pletcher, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship trained surgeon specializing in Complex General Surgical Oncology. He recently joined Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.

Dr. Pletcher received his Medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He subsequently completed his General Surgery Residency at St. Luke's Roosevelt in New York City and further specialized in Complex General Surgical Oncology during his fellowship training at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, California. Prior to his medical education, he obtained a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from Lehigh University.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Pletcher has received numerous honors and awards, including The Arthur H. Aufses, Jr. Award (Chief Resident) from St. Luke’s Roosevelt, and the Charles McBurney Award from St. Luke’s Roosevelt General Surgery Residency. Dr. Pletcher has been actively involved in …cancer research, serving as a Research Fellow in the Division of Surgical Oncology at Mount Sinai from June 2019 to June 2020. In addition, Dr. Pletcher held leadership positions on various committees, including the Surviving Sepsis Board at Mount Sinai West and Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination team at Cedars-Sinai as the Surgery Representative.

Dr. Pletcher's research has been published in reputable medical journals, and he has presented his findings at numerous conferences. His studies focus on improving cancer treatment outcomes through use of surgical techniques and underlying factors contributing to treatment responsiveness. He is committed to advancing the field of surgical oncology and providing the highest quality of care to his patients.
