Dr Scardina is the best Dr on this planet and I have been to many many drs.He saved my life over three times now when other drs told me there was nothing they could do.he si the dr to all my children and one of them has chrones and he has helped him so so much.He is the best ever and I would never go any were else.

I have had the good fortune to have Dr. Scardina as my primary care physician for 15+ years. He has been there for me through minor ailments and a major one - cancer. I call his medicine "classic" because he commits himself entirely to your care, listens attentively, provides expert treatment, and goes well beyond the cookie cutter medicine one often receives these days. In addition, he has created an exceptional network of specialists when further care is required. Dr. Scardina is the first physician who I actually refer to as â??my doctor.â?? There is an actual rapport when you are his patient. Heâ??s amazing in that he always remembers the details of issues Iâ??ve brought to him on previous appointments. I truly feel heâ??s on top of my health, cares deeply and (thankfully) works with me to complement the eastern medicine I also employ. Scardina is like having a health advocate; not just some guy pushing the flu shot and an annual physical. I also love his staff who are kind, helpful and competent. I totally recommend him.

I have been going to Dr. Scardina for nearly a decade now, following a bad experience with another doctor in the city. Since switching, I have always found Dr. Scardina extremely accessible (even by e-mail, if needed), very engaging and interested in providing me with the best healthcare possible. His staff is very nice and easy to deal with and they always follow-up before appointments. I never feel rushed during my appointments; he spends a good deal of time with me, explaining his diagnoses, why he suggests a certain medication or course of treatment, etc. He is also able to provide access to great specialists around the city to deal with particular health issues that fall outside his general practice. I've never had the experience others have shared in this forum, leaving patients in debt or anything of the sort. Dr. Scardina is always cognizant of the increasing costs of healthcare and careful to ensure the most cost-effective delivery of services to his patients. I… would highly recommend Dr. Scardina to any prospective patient, who takes a vested interest in their own healthcare. I am confident they will have the same positive experience I have enjoyed over the years.

I have been a patient of Dr. S for almost 2 years now. I was referred to him by a good friend here in New York. I did not have a local internist since moving to New York four years ago. I am extremely satisfied with the care provided by Dr. S. He is attentive, caring and professional. Whenever I have had a reason to visit him, I have been able to get an appointment quickly - sometimes even the same day. He keeps current on all the trends and developments in medicine. As a homosexual male, it is important to have a doctor who is aware of the issues that can impact my health. Dr. S is very knowledgeable. He has kept me in great shape since I've started seeing him. I truly feel that he cares about me as a person. Dr. S. also has a great referral network of Specialists. Any time I have had to use one of his referrals I have been extremely satisfied. I highly endorse this doctor!

At first, do not get me wrong, Dr. Scardina is deceptively caring. However, after investing all my trust in his decisions, it became clear to me that he has a serious power complex, making decisions without patient consent or basic medical ethics. With the types of patients he sees, non-compliance and depression should be expected and dealt with respect and empathy. Scardina provides an overt antithesis of these qualities. He is intimidating, demanding, and when things don't go his way, he WILL drop you as a patient, leaving you stranded without care. In my opinion, Scardina fails to show any respect for medical ethics, and has no moral qualms with leaving his patients in debt. He is known in NYC as unreliable and prone to making decisions according to his ego rather than the patient's reality. He literally left me in 1000s of dollars in debt after endless unnecessary procedures. He works sporadically and inconveniently - it took me weeks to get a hold of him to pay for my… health costs, although too late to prevent extravagant fees. He unjustifiably dropped me as a patient after missing an appointment, after being compliant and consistent for months. I have since been off meds and looking for a doctor. The only thing I can morally do is to prevent informed patients from making the same mistake I did. Please, for the sake of your wellbeing, avoid this doctor, especially if you suffer from psychiatric issues. It's very disturbing that he continues to practice without remorse, without any ethical foundation, without any empathy for his patients.

Dr Scardina has been my primary care physician for years now. He is engaging and smart, has been open to my suggestions for alternate treatments, non-judgmental, humorous. I have been skeptical about some suggestions but in every case he proved to be right. Usually he takes me on schedule
