Dr. Schenk cares deeply about his patients and their health! He listens intently and has a fun and energetic personality. Dr. Schenk is well read on all topics and keeps us on our toes. We are thrilled to have his medical expertise in our "backyard". A big thank you to the entire office, the unsung heroes!!!

Do not go to this doctor. His staff is just awful too.

Terrible doctor and terrible office staff!!

I have seen Dr. Schenk for the past 6 years. The staff have ALWAYS been attentive and responsive to my questions and needs. I never wait more than a few minutes to see the doc. He easily makes referrals if an issue is out of his expertise. I have found the office manager and other staff thoroughly competent and caring.Not sure about the haters on this site. It is almost as if you are writing about another person.

I started seeing Dr. Schenck after my PCP relocated; he came highly recommended by my PCP and I have not yet been disappointed (3+ years). He is very thorough and hands-on--actually sits down, looks at me, and listens to what I have to say which is very rare in a doctor of any sort. He is tracking several issues for me which may become troublesome and we meet twice a year to see how things are going. He doesn't forget anything and holds me accountable for making the changes I need to make. I really don't care about his office staff--they're not why I'm there and I don't want to be friends with them anyway--but neither are they rude or distant. In fact, Ashley and Evelyn are perfectly pleasant and polite. I would recommend him if any of my friends needed a new PCP.

I concur wholeheartedly with the negative comments made by others on this site. I went to Dr. Schenk only once for an annual checkup (which was basically a conversation without blood work or any real examinationthe laziest physical that Ive ever had). The following year I decided to find a doctor who was closer to home so I made a request to his office to send my records to my new physician. Not long after, I received a nasty letter from Dr. Schenk terminating my relationship which was so bizarre and melodramatic, that it was almost laughable. After only one meeting with him, I didnt know we had a relationship! Dr. Schenk went on to state in the letter that, although he was willing to treat me in case of an emergency for 30 days, After that time, I will not see you in this office for any reason." Never in my life have I received such a letter which is so unbecoming of a so-called medical professional. Frankly, though, it made me realize that I had made the right decision to find… another doctor. Dr. Schenk apparently has some serious ego issues and I would never, ever see himfor any reasonagain!

My grandson is a juvinile diabetic and was not being adaquitely treated by his doc. Called his doc after experiencing a 600+ BG reading, no response after 3 calls. On my reccomendation, his call to Dr. Schenk was returned same day, appointment the next and equipped with an insulin pump within 2 weeks. Dr.Schenk has been treating me for 5 years and my wife for 3 years. Very comfortable with and confident in his treatment. A1

IN my opinion this guy is a horrible Doctor. If you or a loved one see this guy you should run as fast as you can!!!!! By the looks of these other posts people are starting to get the picture!!!!!!!!!

It seems the number of people I am finding who have moved on from this doctor is growing. My entire family went to him for about 3 years and almost all of us had problems with him. We just moved and when we did we told the new doctor staff about how we didn't like him or his staff. Their response was "we are hearing that a lot". For the people on here who gave good ratings all I can say is give it some time. We liked him a lot the first year. By the second year we were not happy with some of his decisions not to order tests or have follow ups for a problem my wife had. She had pain needlessly for 6 months because he would not order a test that revealed an issue she had. We found his office staff to be less friendly and on some occasions very rude. His wife who is the office manager was the worst. A miserable person to deal with. A person I know who went to this doctor received a letter from him asking him to find a new PCP simply because he wanted to get a second opinion… over a specialist that Dr.Schenk had recommended and who this person had already seen. Wow huh? I saw the letter so I know this isn't just a story. Dr. Schenk's problem is that he is putting the local medical community first and his patients second. His choices and recommendations with my family have always sided on dismissing problems without looking into them very far. Tests not ordered, digging a little deeper not done. As a result I can very honestly say my family has suffered medically because of his decisions. If you are healthy and just looking for a once a year pat on the back then he gets it done. If you are unfortunate enough to have medical problems that require real doctor knowledge then he isn't for you. If you are a patient of his I suggest you get a copy of your medical records. They will be nasty about giving them up but you should insist. You might be surprised at his notes. Maybe even shocked as I was. I never had a problem with a doctor till I started going to Dr. Schenk. He should move back to Ohio where he came from.
