Dr Eric Silverstein, DPM

The last time I saw Dr. Silverstein I waited 50 minutes for my appointment. Right now, I’ve been in the waiting room for an hour. Time to find another doctor.

Dr. Silverstein is a cut above the rest. I have never seen a doctor who cares more about his patients. He always spends the time that is needed for each patient. You may have to wait for him but the wait is well worth it. He cares deeply about all of his patients and always goes above and beyond in caring for them, even seeing patients after hours and on weekends if necessary. You won't find a more caring doctor. I highly recommend him as a top podiatrist.

I highly recommend Dr. Eric Silverstein. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has been very helpful with ongoing foot issues. Dr. Silverstein comes highly recommended and has a very busy practice, however he never makes you feel rushed and explains things thoroughly and completely in order to come up with an individualized treatment plan. He makes you feel extremely valued as a patient and thoughtfully answers every question you may have. His staff are also all wonderful and cannot be more helpful. Lastly, he exhibits a wonderful sense of humor, compassion and understanding that make him a pleasure to work with.

Dr Silverstein treated my wife Jane today for issues with her toes on the left foot. He was professional, polite, efficient, explained everything and followed thro' on all his recommendatons. We know we are in good hands and feel confident his treatment will help Jane recover. Winston Dudley

Dr Silverstein performed bunion and hammer toe surgery on me and the results were very good. He will explain everything in detail but you need to listen first. If he hasn't answered all your questions after his initial explanation, then feel free to ask your questions. While wait times in his Hartford office can be long, I did not have long wait times in the West Hartford office. He referred me to an excellent physical therapist. If you explicitly follow directions then you should be good to go. That meant using my crutches, boot and doing the physical therapy.

He performed surgery on my foot to try to correct a bunion. I needed numerous surgeries after initial surgery where he attempted to correct his mistake. He was not truthful about the reasons for subsequent surgeries. I would not recommend him ever. I ultimately left him and went to another physician where I ended up needing another surgery. I’ll never be the same.

He messed up my foot so badly with the first surgery it has needed 2 subsequent revisions. I am not sure it will ever be right. I also have documentation that he lied to me on several occasion about my diagnosis. (Films, etc). He should be sanctioned and is not Board certified.

Not recommended. He did a bunion surgery and hammertoe surgery on me that failed. I have since learned it was not done correctly. He did not pin the toes, let me walk on a pinned bone within 2 weeks. He did not use blood thinners to prevent a pulmonary embolism. He also lied to me about this other many other things. He is arrogant and his average office wait time is well over an hour.
