Two months post-surgery, we are still deeply grateful for Dr. Eric Steiner and the extraordinary care he provided during one of the most critical moments of our lives. From the first time we met him in the ICU at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim, Dr. Steiner’s direct yet compassionate demeanor gave us both clarity and comfort. He didn’t sugarcoat the seriousness of the situation, but he delivered the information with empathy, calm, and confidence, which made all the difference in a time of overwhelming uncertainty. His precision and skill in performing my wife's emergency craniotomy quite literally saved her life. In the time since, as we’ve reflected on all the unknowns we faced that night, we’ve come to appreciate even more how rare it was to find a surgeon who is not only technically exceptional but also deeply human in his approach to care. Before April 4th 2025, I had never known Dr. Eric Steiner. For all the days that come, I will never forget him. That's how profound of an impact his… care was and still is to our family. We will forever be thankful to Dr. Steiner and his entire neurosurgery team on this case including but definitely not limited to Dr. Hamid Hadi, Dr. Omid Hariri, Dr. Sean William Kaloostian as well as PA's Kimberly Scott and James Young Lee. All of whom exuded a professionalism that should be acknowledged by Kaiser Permanente as exceptional. In closing, I reflect of the immediate post surgery encounter I had with Dr. Steiner. A conversation that lasted merely seconds in the long hall between the doors that lead in one direction to the ICU & the other to surgery, and I hope it reaches him again when he reads it, as I hope it reached him that night ... Dr. Steiner performed a cervical laminectomy on me C2 - C7 all issues I had with numbness in my right arm with neuropathy all the way down to my hand have totally been relieved. I am very grateful to Dr. Steiner for giving me my life back. Dr.Steiner is my Hero!!!

My husband had two surgeries with him and we are pleased with the results. He is a top notch surgeon as far as skills and compassionate heart. As a seasoned health care worker myself short after working with him realized how special and distinguished he is. He really deserves the Compassionate care award. I truly and deeply respect him for his exceptionally excellent qualities, he is a true gem and kaiser Permanente is blessed to have him on board. The doctors and nurses who need neurosurgery they only choose him.

very unprofessional, he walk into the exam room and made a snide comment. told us multiple times that my husband did not need surgery, the type of tumor was slow growing. I requested a second opinion and the Neurosurgeon we saw next was out of san diego and stated that the tumor needed to come out now and it was very large. the surgery was scheduled withing a week. 5 years later we are happy we didn't take his advise and went to another surgeon.

Dr. Stiner is the most competent and caring surgeon in the NS field. His calm demeanor is reassuring and his skills are second to none. Dr. Stiner is truly awesome.

I had meet with Dr Stiner in 2017 at that meeting he was quick to say no surgery. He said if he wanted a new car he would do surgery. He said loose weight ( I was being seen for my neck) he said do alternative treatments if that doesn't work check back in a year. I had another MRI he emailed me saying come in for surgery options. I asked if we could do a phone consultation so I would not have to miss work he never replied. I was able to get in 2 months later. He said he had never seen me he said he didn't email me. He said no surgery I kept asking why because two orthopedic surgeons said for me to have surgery. He would not go over my MRI or explain his professional opinion. He talked to be like a five year old kept saying no that's my opinion. What Dr does not explain things. He was rude unprofessional.

When I finally got to emergency, my leg and foot were completely numb, could not move foot and was in extreme pain. When the first doctors came in, I was told I may not get use of foot again. Dr. Stiner operated the next day and within a few days, I could move my foot. He was so compassionate and obviously very concerned. When I got movement back, he and his associates were joyous, as was I. I had a second different surgery 6 months later. Recovery was tough but Dr Stiner worked with me to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Dr Stiner was always there to answer questions and do whatever it took to get me back on my feet and walking. I cannot stress enough how dedicated, professional yet personal and caring Dr Stiner is. I recommend him highly and wish I still had Kaiser insurance because of his performance. He is the best!
