Dr. Eric James Straumanis, MD

Very good! I have symptoms that I feel weren't being talked about. Short sessions I don't feel listened to and my medications don't work enough. I struggle with formation that isn't talked about enough but, other than that I do recommend.

I've been in Dr. Straumanis' care for several years. I was diagnosed with bipolar and depression. He recommended an anti-depressant originally. I refused the drug. He still continued to treat me. When I began to feel suicidal, he again recommended zoloft. He appreciates my concerns of being over-medicated and accepts my input. I feel as a patient it is my responsibility to work with a dr. to manage my health care and Dr. Straumanis allows me to do that. I take a mood stabilizer and an anti-depressant; that's all. Because of his concern and care, my life is own again. I recommend him to my PCP, friends and you. Sandy and Collette are pretty awesome, too. (FYI I am not some nut who fell for her dr., I'm old enough to his mom)

He treats Bipolar Disorder competently. Since he managed my care, I haven't needed to go in-patient psychiatric at all. That alone is a miracle.

ine star is not low enough, this guy will misdiagnosis you, tell you that YOU are crazy when you have a bad reaction to two prescriptions that HE wrote! He has a way of demeaning everything about your life! Can not stress how much you should not go to this man or give him money! He is a fake, by the time you leave his office you will feel a thousand times worse than you did walking in!

I tell my friends he's awesome. Never acts rushed, listens to me, and doesn't over medicate.

Dr. Straumanis was rude, he acted like he didn't believe when I said that my husband is verbally, mentally and economically abusive, he insulted me and he was very arrogant, he made me feel belittled after I waited 4 months to get in to see him.

Ive probably been treated more rudely, but I'm having difficulty remembering when. He was egotistical, rude, he was belittling and arrogant (even for a doctor!). He half listened and jumped to unfounded conclusions before a thought was finished. He interrupted me often and got visibly angry when I did the same. At one point, he angrily got in my face as if to intimidate. I'm thinking he might have anger issues. I've never had such a negative experience with any doctor. It was really easy to get an appointment (which isn't surprising in retrospect).

After being the pill popping guinea pig of multiple family practice and internal medicine doctors, I got tired of being a money producing experiment. I was put on different medications and had dosages adjusted, but nothing was changing except for my bank account. Some medications actually made my problems worse. My previous doctors all seemed to have no clue, yet had no problem taking my money every month. After multiple recommendations from personal sources, I finally decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Straumanis and I was not disappointed. It was very liberating to have a productive conversation with a well educated medical doctor who took the time to really listen. It takes about 3 months to get a 1st time patient visit, but once you're in his office he will give you the time you need to explain what has been going on in your life. He genuinely listened to what I had to say and probed for more information to get a better understanding of my personal situation, but didn't… make me feel rushed. I could tell throughout our conversations that he is very knowledgeable so as long as you're completely honest with him, there is no reason why you shouldn't get an accurate diagnosis. If I would have made an appointment with Dr. Straumanis sooner, I could have prevented unnecessary frustration and saved myself a lot of time and money. Before I ever met Dr. Straumanis I did read the bad reviews on this website, regarding mixing medications and horrible side effects. I have to say that I find them hard to believe and contrary to common sense and normal human behavior. A written prescription leaves an undisputable, traceable electronic trail and I find no lawsuits against Dr. Straumanis for endangering the lives of patients. What person, especially in this country, is going to allow a doctor to intentionally make them sick and risk their life, but not seek legal action when there is a clear indication of wrong doing? Dr. Straumanis is an intelligent solution to your real health problems and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was his patient for maybe 2 years, he diagnosed me bipolar type 2 and I was up to 5 meds so I called B.S. when he started to factor in issues from my mom and sister's treatment (both were his patients) and we saw it as him wrapping us up and not separate patients.
