Dr. Eric Swanson, MD

Just wanted to make sure my review goes through! I spent $30,000 for face, neck lift, breast lift/implants and all over lipo. The scarring from my breast lift and implant is like a horror show...unbelievable! He said they are fine...well other professionals have said they have never seen anything so awful! AND they are uneven, point in different directions and too far apart. So I will need reconstruction surgery and the opinion is not good for the two inch across scars from bottom to my nipple and all around my nipple. Then...my neck lift was botched! Dr Swanson did not cut and resew the areas of the neck to have thighs chin and no sagging...so have to have that redone. Very Very Very disappointed. My breast are so bad I am embarrassed to have anyone look at me and the sagging neck was the whole reason I went in for the first place..

Horrible!! I have huge scars from my breast lift and implants !! I will have to have reconstructive surgery for 2 inch scars AND they are crooked/pointing in different directions/too far apart!!! Then on neck lift...it was incomplete! the "bands" in the neck were not cut and re attached!! So still loose sagging around jaw and neck! You can see ...very clearly all my tight bands in neck. I will have to have this redone!! I feel like I should be on an episode of Botched!!

Would not recommend Dr. Swanson. Terrible bedside manner. Please do your research and see the amount of malpractice suits he’s had against him. He will say he’s never been guilty, but I’ve seen his work and I feel botched!

I’ve had multiple procedures done by Dr Swanson! He is amazing! I’ve always been so happy with my results. Dr Swanson is kind, he listens and has always given me the results I hoped for. I’ve always felt safe and in good hands. His staff have always been very professional.

I would like to start this review by saying that this is the only surgeon that can completely hide that you ever had anything done and you still have functionality and feeling!

I went to Dr Swanson for a breast reduction. It took about two years for insurance to approve it (his staff went above and beyond to help) Anyway, I’m going to talk about my experience and then list the pros and cons I had. I had the reduction and quickly noticed that one breast was significantly larger than the other. We asked about if it they would be the same size after swelling went down and he said yes. Okay, that’s fine. At my one week appointment we asked about it again. He said it was still swollen. Asked about it again at my three month appointment, when there was no longer any swelling. His response was that it would go to normal when the healing process was done. Anyway, seven months later I went back again because my breasts were still very obviously uneven. I wasn’t too bothered by it, mistakes happen and as long as it gets fixed no big deal. Before I had the procedure done I had asked if any type of mistake that could be made would be fixed and he assured me that it… would, which is one reason I chose to go with him. He measured me and told me that “if I want to go down to a smaller size he would only charge me the surgery center fee” (which is over $3,000). I brought up to him that they have been uneven since immediately after the procedure. I left that appointment frustrated and decided to make an appointment with a new plastic surgeon for a consult. The new surgeon was not surprised that I needed to have a revision. He did my consult, assessment, and gave me a quote (which is less than Dr Swanson was going to charge me to fix his mistake) and asked me to get my records from Dr Swanson so that he could see the approach he used. I went and got my records and looked through them. It is not mentioned at all that we had brought the uneven sizes to his attention snd had complaints. All of the notes talk about how happy I am with the results, other than the final visit which says that I expressed the desire to have more size taken off. He also submitted my ethnicity incorrectly to my insurance. I started off as an I/J cup size and currently have one breast as a DDD/F and one as a D. The size that we had agreed on taking me down to was a low D Pros: his office staff is incredible I healed nicely from my procedure I’m impressed by how regularly they check for blood clots (every routine follow up) Dr Swanson is initially very kind Cons: incorrect records A poorly executed procedure with incorrect results Not taking accountability for his own mistake

Dr. Swanson is the only one that would see me the day of my accident. None of the other plastic surgeons in town are set up to take walk in emergency sutures. Or would be bothered with it. Laying in the emergency room and the hospital didn’t even have anybody on call that would do plastic surgery style stitching. Dr. Swanson is my hero.

First let me say I really like Dr. Swanson and his staff. They are kind and upbeat and very willing to answer questions. Dr. Swanson works so well with his staff and you can tell they function as a solid team. Second, with any surgery, but definitely cosmetic you have to have realistic expectations. I am very happy with the outcome of the procedures I had. Dr. Swanson also was very quick to address the one concern I had to make sure I am 100% happy. That speaks volumes. He cares most about the health of his patients but the happiness too. I love that. He listened to the subtle things I pointed out and gave me a solid plan to address them even though my initial result is great. Third, I work in healthcare and safety is paramount to me. The added steps he takes for infection control are not something I’ve seen done anywhere else including the hospital I work at. It made me feel so much safer. Also, his routine checks for vascular issues are so important and also not typically… done. Blood clots are one of the most dangerous post operative complications and this simple screening can detect them before they cause life threatening complications. He made this nervous nurse that knows too much feel safe. For that I can’t thank him enough. Dr. Swanson has also worked on my daughter and son-in-law who both were so happy. That’s why I chose him. He treated my family like family. In choosing to undergo cosmetic surgery make sure you are psychologically ready for the change and have realistic expectations. If you fit that category and want to proceed trust that Dr. Swanson will work to get you a result you are happy with. I would not hesitate to recommend him. He and his staff are just such wonderful people with an artistic eye and a skilled hand.
