Dr. Troutman joined Greenville Ob/Gyn Associates in 1989. A native of Burlington, N.C., he graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University and received his MD from Wake Forest University. He completed Ob/Gyn residency training at Greenville Health System. Dr. Troutman is board-certified in Ob/Gyn and is annually re-certified. His special interests include robotic and minimally invasive surgery, normal and high-risk pregnancy, and women's health maintenance at all ages. Dr. Troutman and his wife Elizabeth have a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ben Orr, and a son, Nathan. Dr. Troutman and his wife enjoy travel, scuba diving and photography.

Very warm and interested in my concerns. Easy to talk to. Thorough examination with concern for patient comfort. I could not have been more pleased, except that the office was very busy and my wait was a bit long. Both he and his nurse apologized for the delay.

Caring doctor, never in a hurry to finish exams, answer and listen my question. I trust his desitions.

Dr. Troutman is not a good physician as many may think as at one time I thought he was. I was diagnosed with stage 3 uterine cancer. He was not the person who diagnosed me. I went to him twice and called mutipe times complaining of pain and bleeding that would not stop. He disregarded my history of cancer and didn't even run my blood. Well as a result it almost cost me my life!! So no I would not recommend him to any woman.

I have been seeing Dr. Troutman for 20 years and would not want to see another OB/GYN. When I moved away I had him refer me to doctor in Columbia because I trust his opinion. As soon as I moved back to Greenville, I went right back to Dr. Troutman. He has the best bedside manner.

Dr. Troutman was excellent. He was very kind and didn't seem rushed, he really wanted to make sure that I understood everything we talked about. He and his nurse both took the time to sit with me and make sure they understood what my problems were before they made any conclusions. I am very glad that I was referred to him.

Wonderful Wonderful Doctor! Could not ask for a more careing and concerned doctor. He takes time to listen to your questions and concerns and never rushes you. He was the only doctor that would discuss infertility with me after my miscarriage since it wasnt a full year after. He is amazing and i will definatly send more patients his way!

Dr. Troutman is one of the best OBGYN's in South Carolina. He has a pretty bad bedside manner though so its a trade off. For any major problem, he is your man, don't expect any coddling though. He is very straight and very dry.
