Dr. Eric Grant Unkenholz, DDS

I'd been there a few times before and wasn't quite sold on them, but being new(ish) to town I didn't know where else to go when I got a toothache. He said I needed a crown so I paid over $1000 for one and it never felt right. I kept going back and I could tell they were tired of me by how short and rude they were. One even rolled her eyes eyes at the Dr when I was talking. They never resolved the problem. After about two months of this and my pain getting worse, I went to another dentist. They showed me the xray and told me I needed a root canal. I know very little about xrays, but when I saw the picture compared to my other teeth, it was very obvious. Since it was a crappy crown, it cracked and broke when the new dentist did the root canal, and as soon as it broke I had relief! The bad crown and the poor fit was one of the other reasons I had such discomfort. New dentist was great – he did a new crown at half price since I’d just paid for one and my insurance wouldn’t pay… again. My family has a new dentist and I tell everyone I know about my bad experience with unkenholz.

Awful hygienist. Amy is her name Sounds like a muppet and has the worst BO and breath I've ever smelled. Absolutely horrid. She told the Dr I had no decay, even though I showed her a place in a molar that an old filling came out and tooth broke, and she xrayed it. He came in and said he saw one place that needed restoration (presumably the one i told them about) and then she said "well I didn't see anything", so he said, "ok, I guess you don't need anything" and sent me on my way. The next week I made an appointment with a different dentist, and yes indeed, I needed a filling and it was very obvious to them. The new dentist said to me "you should really get your teeth cleaned sometime soon, there is a lot of calc present. He did not believe me that I just had them done 2 weeks prior. So they do an awful job at Unkenholz also! FIND A NEW DENTIST IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR TEETH!!

We are well educated professionals. New to town and thought we'd try this place as we'd watched the progress of the remodeled building. Whoever said "newer is better" or "bigger is better" was dead wrong. They might have a nice new office, but the guy is a rude, condescending jerk, his desk staff is rude as can be, and the muppet voiced hygienist named Amy has a serious odor problem. How people sit in her chair for 45 minutes and want to keep coming back is beyond me. Her voice is more than I could handle, and no, I really don't care about your kid. I was shopping for a new dentist on my phone while I waited 30 minutes for the Dr to come and do my exam. I wanted to leave but they said it was against the law. Thanks but no thanks.

What do I know about whether technology is advanced or not?

Amazing with kids!! Excellent dentist and great staff!! Highly recommended!!!!
