Reason for vist to close off perferator feeding open leg ulcer. Dr. did a partial closeure but did not clear up open ulcer. Was charged for visits,and ultrasounds. Rcvd a letter from Dr saying ulcer would close but did not heal all the way. went back for checkup and another ultrasound which showed that other perferators were missed so necessary to redo the operation and again rcvd a letter from doctor that closure of the ulcer would be forthcomming. Was charged full cost for the second operation. waited several months for ulcer to close and sucess was not forthcomming again and a third ultrasound showed that there is still a perferator still feedin the open ulcer area and they want to do a third closure of the perferator and again at full charge. At what point is the patient to keep from losing faith and trust in a Doctor that has a reputation of being an outstanding vascular surgeon. My history with this leg ulcer goes back 30 years and many different doctors thruout the U.S. and my… understanding of the procedures is good.. At what point does the Dr take responsibility for the work that he does is incomplete and should finish the job at his expense rather than the patients expense.I do understand there are costs for materials used during the operation but if the operation was done correctly the first time there would not be any extra material costs
