Dr. Eric Lee Wymer, MD

Took three days off work due to sinus cold. Was coughing, clogged nose and sore throat. Due to working for the government if I take more than 2 days off I have to have a doctors slip saying that I can return to work. Went in to see Dr Wymer and he advised that he does not do return to work notes for people that he did not see prior to allowing them to be off! He said with a sinus cold he probably would not have had me be off work. Really? So you determine when I take off and use my own sick time from work? That's not his job to determine when I use my sick time! And with my line of work lives are on the line. If I'm not 100%, then I'm not going to be at work risking myself and other peoples safety or lives! When I told him that he said that that is irrelevant to the situation. Again...REALLY? In fact my work stated that if I had cold like symptoms that I should stay home to take care of myself so I don't infect other employees or civilians that I'm around ( Especially now with all the… covid situation still going on ). But Dr. Wymer wanted me to go ahead and go to work, during the night when it was 19° out and suck in cold air while I was already having trouble with a clogged nose and coughing. Needless to say I will not be returning to his office and I will be finding a new doctor. This isn't the first time I've had issues with him. He oversteps his bounds a lot. I would not recommend him at all to anyone, especially those that are in public service jobs where others are counting on you to be 100 percent healthy, so you can step up and save lives! You think a doctor would understand that but he doesn't!

This Dr will never tell you what is wrong with you before you leave the office. Accused me of using heroin at a visit because I had hives all over my body.

Don't risk your health with this Doctor.

I had been seeing Dr. Wymer for five years. Over the past two years, I had developed acute and agonizing back pain. I tried everything to relieve the pain (chiropracter, physical therapy, exercises, pills, etc.) I had a total of ten office visits with him regarding the pain, and he never wanted to diagnose and find the exact cause of my pain. He wouldn't even write the orders so I could get an x-ray or MRI. All he did was give me a print out of exercises and a prescription for muscle relaxants, and neither helped. The pain steadily grew worse, to the point of excruciating, and leaving me in tears. After weeks of unrelenting pain, I visited another doctor, who ordered an x-ray. The results came back as degenerative disk disease. I had the results faxed to Dr. Wymer's office. A nurse called me and said Dr. Wymer would like me to make an appt so we could discuss this. When I came in for the appt, Dr. Wymer recommended 2 months of physical therapy, which he wanted me to do in the… office next to his. (Perhaps he owns the physical therapy place?) Because I had already gone through physical therapy, and it had not helped, I wasn't happy. I tried to stress how much pain I was in, but apparently Dr Wymer did not care. He told me to take Alleve. I told him if my pain could be managed by taking Alleve I would not be there seeing him in the first place. After all this, I realized I had to change doctors. Now I see Dr. Booher, who is wonderful. I've just completed a round of steriods to minimize the inflammation, and this has helped with the pain. And soon I will be receiving injections in my spine to numb the area. I'm so thankful I sought out a second opinion!!!!

I rarely have met a doctor that I instantly like, and he is one of the few who actually listened to me, and got to the bottom of my problems when others didn't.
