Dr. Eric A Yancy, MD

I appreciate his non-interventionist stance for the most part and have liked how conservative he approaches and weighs possible treatments against their risks, but at the same time have had a generally negative experience with him. My infant son has been crying excessively, screaming even, for months now and Dr. Yancy kind of hand-waved the whole situation as no big deal, occasionally pegging me as a "mommy blogger" type on the basis that I asked questions (definitely not who I am, I like to be able to trust and respect the pediatrician we pick and leave it at that, so it felt kind of condescending) and didn't even offer recommendations for home remedies... guy had a great sense of humor and was polite, great bedside manner with children but still, my gut instinct told me something wasn't right. It wasn't until I finally took him elsewhere to get a second opinion that we finally got a diagnosis of reflux. My kid has been in pain for MONTHS and we had NO idea. I feel awful.

I admire Dr. Yancy's knowledge in Pediatrics. I have been taking all 4 of my boys to him since they were born and he has never been wrong in anything. It will be a sad day when Dr. Yancy retires, I just hope he dosen't retire until my 19th month old is 19. Wishful and selfish thinking I know, but its hard to find doctors who care. I should know because I work with them everyday.

Dr. Yancy was my sister's doctor upon birth. When I would go along to doctor visits, he was always funny and attentive, strong yet gentle with the little ones. His diagnosis was always absolutely accurate. His care for the little ones, particularly the inner city disadvantaged children of the community,is equal to none. With his amazing experience and numerous accolades, he has stayed true to the African-American community and has served them well. He is now the caregiver for all of my children. When my children were delivered, he was at the top of my OB-GYN's list of recommended pediatricians. I would pay out of pocket if it was the only way we could be seen by him. I would recommend him to anyone!!!!
