Summary
I enjoy the practice of pain medicine. I approach each patient as I would a family member. I carefully evaluate the patient to identify the underlying problem. I listen to the patient tell the history of the problem and perform a thorough and complete physical exam. I then will personally evaluate the images if they are available. At that time I usually have a diagnosis or two that would benefit with treatment. I then formulate a plan to improve the quality of life of the patient. This plan often involves physical therapy or home exercises plan, a plan to improve medications and possibly a minimally invasive procedures plan to provide long lasting relief. Some patients have trouble coping with their pain or also suffer from depression or anxiety due to their condition. I may coordinate mental health care to help improve these conditions as well. It is my goal to improve the quality of life and function of the patient so that they can enjoy their life, work and relationships again.
