I got better results from another doctor in 1 day than from this doctor in a month

The whole office was cold. They charged me much more than they quoted on the phone and didn't take Amex. They never told me before hand. The doctor was rude and cold. He made funny faces towards me. Unacceptable. I see doctors all the time. I have never been treated so poorly ever.

The kind, patient Dr. Zweifach, same location, is the father, now mostly retired, occasionally seeing patients when son in surgery, but no longer does surgery himself. The son has a rather abrupt, distracted manner and is far less patient-oriented but is also a top-notch surgeon - did one of my cataracts and I knew I was in good hands. Besides, his father told me so!

Dr. Zweifach has not only treated me and my family for many years, but also several dozen of my friends. I won't let anyone I know see any ophthalmologist but him. He is not only a fantastic physician, having solved many serious problems over the years, but his bedside manner is exceptional. He thoroughly explains absolutely everything, and leaves you with no questions unanswered. He is also a funny guy. I can't recommend him enough!

What do you want in a Dr.? Especially one that help you see and stay connect tot he world. For me, I want a Dr. that I totally trust. Dr. Zweifach is the one! He operated on my cataracts. If you are like me you HATE operating rooms. I couldn't believe how comfortable he made me feel even before the anathesia kicked in. I was back 6 weeks later in the operating room getting the other eye done. Today, I see better than I have in over 50 years. Dr. Zweifach inspires confidence, is enjoyable to visit ,always clearly explains what he see and really inquires if I have any questions. His staff is courteous and his office is both convenient and comfortable. But most important Dr. Zweifach is a terrific doctor.

Dr. Zweifach is a wonderful surgeon! He saved my father's vision, and took excellent care of him. I recommend him highly!

Dr. Zweifach is an amazing doctor who also happens to be a really nice guy. I went to him because I was having headaches. It turned out I had narrow angle Glaucoma which needed emergency surgery. He did a great job with the surgery and I have not had any problems since then.

I had been going to this office exclusively since I moved to New York in the late 80's. This was always for eye exams when my license was up for renewal. The Doctors are a Father and Son team and were always nice and competent. Recently I went for my exam and when I got home I noticed my bill was $325 which I thought was pretty steep. I had the exam, the drops to dilate etc. but I never remember the cost being so great. I called to question this and mentioned that I didn't have insurance and i was told by the not too cordial receptionist that he would speak to the Doctor and call me. He called back and said that was the rate and nothing could be done. After this I wrote a letter and thought they would try to offer some assistance but they refused. I did pay the full charge and asked for my records. Perhaps I should have asked their rate in advance but it had never been extreme in the past. I asked many friends who go often to eye Doctors and they all thought this bill was too much.… Anyway, this just felt like a bit of a nasty shakedown and the rude receptionist, clearly not the sharpest tack as they say, made the situation worse. Lesson learned!

This doctor was very rude and arrogant in handling my mother's eye surgery. He took any of her complaints about her eyes post-surgery as personal insults. He did nothing but brag about his handiwork despite her not being able to see! He also set up unreasonable expectations (i.e., as soon as the bandages were off she'd have 20-20 vision--meanwhile it's been weeks and she is still having problems). His nasty attitude was incredible--it's inexcusable that he is so rude to an elderly woman. We will never use him again.
