Dr. Erich Braun, MD

First time visit with Dr.Braun for general eye check-up due to pain and floaters. Discourteous interaction with this doctor i.e., When explaining my concerns about vision loss to him and how the quality of life had suffered since my vision had deteriorated and he tersely informed my he was no “life coach”. This is the only negative review I have ever posted about any business or physician. Dr.Braun’s nurse and clinic staff were kind and helpful but unfortunately the continued discourteous interaction and treatment by Dr.Braun warrants this poor review.

Dr. Braun is the best!!!

I met Dr. Braun after a visit to the Putnam Hospital ER for an unknown eye ailment. Despite the fact that I had four appointments with him, my primary care doctor consulted with him and I reported my symptoms, he treated me for months for what he said was a minor eye ailment and dry eye. Later, after having another episode with the eye on a business trip, I went to a local doctor and followed up with another when I returned home. Found out from both doctors that I have Uveitis! This more serious ailment had gone untreated for months while I was seeing Dr. Braun. Very upset and disappointed. Will never return.

Dr Braun is a very compassionate doctor. He explains step by step procedures and makes you feel at ease. So glad I went to him. He did my cataract surgery of both eyes. Best thing I ever did. No pain and they made me so comfortable before,during and after surgery. He is a treasure!

Rarely have I met a doctor that rates 5 stars in all listed areas. When seeing [no pun intended] Dr. Braun I felt as though it was like visiting an old friend who was really concerned about my well being and not someone who treated me as just another appointment on the calendar.

Staff could not be nicer if they tried. Pleasant, courteous and funny. Dr. Braun made me feel as if I were the only patient he had that day. He spent a great deal of time with me, examining my eyes, talking with me and answering all my questions. Love the office, love the staff, love Dr. Braun!

Very unprofessional and misdiagnosed me twice with serious consequences.

I began seeing Dr. Braun several years ago as my primary ophthalmologist who also follows my macular degeneration very carefully and has performed laser treatment for a narrow angle glaucoma condition his diagnosed. His caring and compassionate bedside manner coupled with his impeccable educational and outstanding medical training distinguishes him as a unique physician who is genuinely dedicated to the well being of his patients who provides state of the art care ophthalmological care to them. Those of us who live in the Putnam area are very fortunate to be have extraordinary "Manhattan" quality physicians such as Dr. Braun practicing here. I certainly consider myself fortunate to have him as a physician, and unhesitatingly refer friends and family to him.

I have spent the last 6 months recovering from a horrendous eye infection that was very difficult to diagnose. Dr. Braun was always attentive and compassionate to my pain and frustration. He was always willing to confer with other doctors to determine my best care plan. I admired that unlike many doctors I have worked with, he always put his ego aside in order to give me the best care.His office staff was always friendly and kind as well.

Outstanding, caring, and professional eye doctor. After seeing Dr. Braun for an eye emergency (all's well thanks to him), I referred my parents to him. They needed cataract surgery and he took the time to explain the procedure and answer all their questions. He does the modern technique for cataracts and they didn't feel a thing. My dad saw better just minutes after the surgery! They are both seeing 20/20 without glasses and we all love Dr. Braun! My three kids will be seeing him next.
