Dr. Erik Cohen, MD

I am newly diagnosed with TIRAD 5 nodules. This is a new chapter for me . When I met with Dr Cohen, he explained the good/bad possibilities and what may need to be done VERY thoroughly. He was patient, listened to my concerns and questions. I am not an easy patient to deal with sometimes but I agree with everything he said and his s/t goal for watching my suspicious thyroid. He's very professional, smart and definitely recommend him.

I knew the minute we met dr. Cohen he was not the person we wanted to develop a plan for the cure of my cancer. He has absolutely NO bedside manor He won't even look at you. He has absolutely no concern about the patients mental well being. He is reluctant to communicate results. Makes you wait weeks. Does not meet in person after numerous attempts to schedule a consult with the results of the biopsies, he tells you over the phone you have terminal cancer. This doctor should NOT be allowed to practice ANYWHERE

My experience with Dr. Cohen was horrific. I waited over an hour in the waiting room, just for starters. (The waiting room was empty!) He could not answer any of my questions. He just stared at me like a deer in headlights whenever I asked a question. I was beginning to wonder if I was on candid camera and the janitor put on a lab coat as a joke. He was completely incompetent in diagnosing my son. Not only did I insist on a biopsy, he specifically said "there are no indicators" to do such and he refused to biopsy it. He couldn't even tell me what indicators he was looking for. He couldn't explain a thing. Does he even have a degree?? He refused to listen to me and totally disregarded the test results, the family history, and my specific concern for my son's well being. Well, 7 months later, my son's ultrasound came back as suspicious for cancer. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone! He is negligent and incompetent. Apparently his patients are just numbers and dollar signs… to him and he doesn't care about his patients well being or their concerns. This is my son's LIFE we are talking about! Horrible! He doesn't even deserve ONE star!

I consider myself a mother that wants ONLY the BEST for her child. I've found that my time is my own.. and it is not the business of any doctor, secretary, or nurse to disturb or limit my own personal time. The waiting in other doctors' offices makes me cringe now that I think about it. In addition, they must always require "more visits" and provide "inconclusive information." I'm no longer chasing my child either. In order to calm her, they provide a beautiful QUIET setting. I relax and read while my child plays. It's silly when you realize that you never considered "the doctor that will have you home before the kettle goes off."
