Dr. Erik Carljohn Davenport, MD

Our experience with Dr. Davenport in the ER was extremely concerning. My niece was diagnosed as moderately dehydrated after two days of persistent vomiting, minimal fluid intake, no wet diapers, and a 103+ fever lasting over 10 days due to RSV. Despite these significant symptoms, she was discharged while still unable to tolerate oral fluids. We specifically requested IV fluids due to her inability to keep water or medication down. Instead, we were instructed on how to administer medication at home, despite her ongoing vomiting and refusal to drink. Dr. Davenport’s communication felt dismissive. He repeatedly walked out of the room while the child’s mother was attempting to ask questions and advocate for her daughter. Our concerns were not clearly addressed, and the reasoning behind the discharge decision was not thoroughly explained. This experience left us feeling unheard during a very serious medical situation.
