As a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon, I recognize that every patient is unique, and that every neck problem or back problem requires a conservative, thoughtful solution. Some of the patients I see do not require my surgical expertise, and these patients are carefully diagnosed and then referred to the non-operative spine specialists as a best strategy. For those patients that do require a surgical solution, whether straight-forward or complex, I believe in using modern, least-invasive surgical techniques to help patients heal and achieve their very best.

On for severe back pain . He did a wonderful job explaining what was needed done what he would need to do . I was impressed with his him.

This was my first time visiting the Hughston Clinic. The staff overall was amazing. Very friendly and made me feel welcomed. My new doctor is very nice and welcoming. He explained treatment plans to me in a way I could understand. He's fantastic!!!! I wish I could give more stars.

Dr Westerlund and staff are always so punctual and friendly. They always make sure that I understand what is going on. He makes the appointment so smooth and relaxed. Never have I had any questions because he covers all the bases and even has a plan of action.

My visit with Dr Westerlund today was very pleasant. He was very accommodating with scheduling my scan and procedure on the same day at The Jack! I am glad that he is now my Dr!! I had heard great things about him From friends in Dothan!
