We have shared this concern in the survey and did not get a response back. We took our daughter for a same-day sick visit and it was not the doctor she saw previously. That morning she had fainted and this was the third time this had occurred in the year. I explained it all to the Dr. and explained our extensive family history of various health issues and expressed other aspects that my daughter had been experiencing. I asked her about doing tests to explore possible causes of the fainting. She explained that she did not think it was anything serious, to follow some directions at home for a month, and then come back in for a follow-up. This did not sit with me well as we still did not know if there were any underlying causes. I called back to the office and spoke with the nurse to request the doctor order basic tests like thyroid (hormone), iron, glucose - the basics just to rule out that she did not have any issues. The nurse made the request and then called me back to let me… know the doctor did not see the need and would not order the tests. The request was basic investigation to rule out typical causes and ensure my daughter was ok. We were not asking for anything extensive or out of the ordinary. It does not cost the Dr anything to order/request the tests. On the contrary, we pay for the tests. Basic tests doctors should order anyway to rule out issues, but when a parent requests them that cannot be just ignored. We will not be returning to Parkside and will be scheduling with a new pediatrician. We have 5 total children and we will not be continuing with Parkside.

I am a little bit biased because this group is near and dear to my heart. I am a nurse and I worked with 5 of the 6 physicians when they trained in residency and I could think of nowhere better to take my children when they opened their own practice. Dr. Anderson is so kind and very confident. I trust her judgment and always feel secure in her advice. All of the doctors in the group are fabulous and all bring different strengths. I am impressed with their outstanding practice, beautiful facility, affectionate bedside manner, attention to detail, confident and complete care, and most of all their love for children. We drive a long way to use this practice and I challenge you to find anything close in this area. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed!
