Dr. Erika Criss Cornett, MD

As someone who was involuntarily placed in a facility, St. Vincent/Ascension Stress Center located in Indianapolis, IN on Harcourt Road, led by Cornett, I was given treatment that did not match my diagnosis. I don’t know her pronouns, so I’ll assume she. Her team consists of RNs who gossip and laugh at patients. I was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia and received two shots within my arm that has seemed to permanently limited the dexterity in my left arm. I am seeking legal action. Upon a search of her medial history as a “doctor,” I read she has similar court cases. She is not recommended for any age or behavioral health, voluntarily. She does not truly care for any patient and the team she realizes on spreads misinformation due to personal reasons. For my case, there were cameras that recorded my entire involuntary stay, two times to be exact. I was given medication that kept me in an incoherent state and threatened with sedation if I did not conform. This program seeks patients who… are vulnerable with family members who are not available for visitation or have a language barrier. I was treated as less than a human. I experienced immaturity and manipulation within an environment that lacked common sense and overall, exuded incompetence and organizational discipline. I do not see myself seeking any reconciliation other than legal action. Due to this being a public review, I will be cautious in the naming of her team as it rotated it daily and used to “prove” my state as her staff rotated daily and did not wear adequate badges. I did not have any outside electronics, such as my personal cellular device, to record or take photos of the conditions. My intentions for this posting is to share the perspective of a patient that was involuntarily placed in her care twice. I’ll add my ethnicity for further analysis as it seemed to be pertinent to my stay: African-American (Black), female, 30s. I never had my weight or height recorded so I chose to not include those attributes.

Extremely caring, knowledgable, smart, attentive doctor. I've seen this doctor the majority of my life. She is straight up and honest. She is knows the meds like the back of her hand. I highly recommend her to anyone that needs a pro to keep them stable. Such a wonderful doctor and person. I have no idea how I would have made it throughout the majority of my life without her knowledge, wisdom, and care. She is truly, one of a kind.
