Dr. Eriko Onishi, MD

Dr. Onishi, I consider to be the best. My wife went through sever trauma the last eight years of her life! Fortunately for me my wife had a Dr. Who cared was kind, compassionate and immediately taking care of each problem as they occurred. She kept me advised as well. This was very helpful for me as I had a lot on my mind and many questions. Now my beautiful wife Laurie has passed. I now have Dr. Onishi As my PCP. She has known me for the past eight and a half years. Dr. Onishi makes sure I do what I need to do in my health-care with her continued caring, kindness and knowledge. So I hope as I said in the beginning OHSU has one of those "ONE IN A MILLION" Doctors on staff! And in closing I would like to thank Dr. Onishi in her native language. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu. Dr. Onishi, to me you are one in a million and am Honored to have you as my Doctor!

I had lost my trust in the medical community until I met Dr. Enriko Onishi. She is kind, caring and compassionate. I've never been able to lean on a Doctor during times of need in my life, I then had the fortune of meeting Dr. Onishi. I just want to say,, when your looking for the best and you meet Dr. Onishi you will realize you found it!

Dr. Onishi had excellent bedside manners and very competent. Only discovered her when my regular doctor was not available.

I originally met dr onishi when my regular dr was out. Initially, I thought she was great, nice bedside manner, and good follow-up. That was a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if her patient load is too much or what but my last two experiences have been terrible. I have waited for over an hour to see her on the last two occasions. I was having some issues and wanted my iron checked. She did that and the test results came back as low iron--no surprise. She made me come back in to talk about it. I had to wait over an hour--I had my toddler with me. It was a nightmare. I couldn't understand why she just couldn't call or email me the recommended dosage to get my iron up. And when I went in, she didn't even know how much to recommend. This is just one example of the time and money wasting in that office. I could go on with other similar examples. I just wound up having to see someone else. I've officially given up on OHSU family medicine and their docs. It's really a shame. It's the… same terrible treatment that we are all getting. They basically don't care.

I've been a patient of Dr. O for several years now & I would recommend her to anyone seeking the best possible GP around. She referred me to two different specialists who commented that they were impressed with her thoroughness and overall abilities. One even commented that if he needed a GP that he wouldn't hesitate to be her patient. She's has great people skills to go along with her medical knowledge. I do occasionally have issues with getting appointments and communication issues with the office staff, but Dr. O is well worth the hassles. Bottom line - she's the best.

I switched to Dr. Onishi after seeing her once when my previous doctor was not available. What luck! She is so thorough, takes the time to talk with me and learn what's really going on. I can't imagine seeing anyone else now. My children love her too. Highly recommend.
