Dr. Erin Kelly Allen, DO

I was a patient of Dr, Allen for over 7 years. She has been a great doctor that helped me a lot over the years except if you have thyroid issues. On thyroid medication she absolutely refused to listen or work with me. She puts the test numbers before the patient. She adjusted my dose 3 times based up test results not me the person, the patient, how I was doing on the medication. Every time she would lower it and I would feel horrible within a couple weeks. I would call and ask her to adjust it, but she would not help without being seen and testing it again which costs $$$. Not wanting to deal with finding another Dr. I would go back and sure enough it was too low. She would adjust the dosage back to where it had been. On the slightly higher dose the test said it was too high, yet I had no symptoms of it being to high (rapid heartbeat, losing weight, sweating, etc) She doesn't care. You are not a person with feelings or thoughts. Your a number, and she just wants you to be a… robot. If you are lucky you will get a 10 minute visit. I didn't complain because I was getting results until the last couple years of thyroid ups and downs. Finally, I voiced my frustration and she had a total temper tantrum like a spoiled child. She was rude and condescending. I even apologized for being honest and having an opinion, but nope she told me she would not be my Dr. any more. I am totally shocked! I thought we were adults that could have a conversation, but no after 7 years of working together she kicked me out and refused to see me just because I was honest with her and voiced my opinion about my health!

Poor bed side manners.

Dr. Allen and her staff are amazing. Wouldnt choose any one else!

I've been very pleased with Dr. Allen and have told friends and co-workers about the excellent care I've received. The people who visited Dr. Allen thanked me for referring them.

The doctor was unable to get blood pressure under control and didn't seem concerned about it 160/90. Tried lisinopril, didn't work. 3 weeks later doctor changed medication to bencort (sp?). One week later, after the 2nd medication didn't work, I called on a Tuesday at 7:52am and never received a call back. On Wednesday I called again at 10:30am and said my bp was still high and the lady on the the phone (can't believe she is a real nurse with such a horrible attitude and disposition) said: oh, well, just go to the heart hospital. I don't need a heart hospital. I need a doctor that knows how to manage blood pressure.

She was this first doctor I've been to that's offered me many ideas to what is going on. Not only that, but she is the first one to find out what's wrong with me, as well as offer solutions in the meantime.

Dr. Allen is very kind. She listens well. Dr. Allen doesn't take long to complete referrals. The front desk staff is very friendly. Dr. Allen's nurse is very kind and remembers each patient. I've had blood drawn several times at this location by different people and it hasn't hurt once. I wish there were more doctors out there like Dr. Allen.
