Dr. Erin Severe is the owner and founder of Eden Wellness Psychology. Dr. Severe is a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland (license #06245). She is also a certified telehealth provider authorized to provide telehealth services in MD, DC, VA and over 30 other states. 

Dr. Severe provides couples therapy, individual therapy, and group therapy to adults of all ages from young adults through older adults. She conducts psychotherapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) orientation and couples therapy utilizing the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She works with diverse couples to enhance their connection and communication and also provides …pre-marital, divorce, marriage and relationship counseling services. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD management and communication skills. Dr. Severe offers support groups for coping with divorce and separation, relationship skills support and mindfulness skills. Additionally, she provides psychological assessments for pre-bariatric surgery evaluations. 

EDUCATION

Dr. Severe received her B.A. from the University of Maryland where she graduated with honors in Psychology. She earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychology and Health Psychology, at the American School of Professional Psychology. She completed her internship at the Mid-Atlantic Internship Consortium where she provided individual and couples therapy and neuropsychological assessments to a diverse client population. Her research has investigated substance abuse among college students and she has co-authored several articles on substance abuse.

Dr. Severe has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, private practice, schools and detention settings. Her assessment experience includes evaluations for bariatric surgery, ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), age-related memory impairment, and other neuropsychological concerns. She has completed advanced training in couples therapy utilizing the Gottman Method as well as Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Couples therapy (EFT). Dr. Severe enjoys helping couples at all stages of their relationship to enhance their connection and improve intimacy and communication.
