Dr. Erin Mcquaide Tsai, MD

I had an appointment for a biopsy and had a routine ultrasound just before the procedure was to happen. When indicating where the mass was, the technician corrected me and told me I was wrong (even though I know how to feel a mass on my own body). Dr. Tsai then informed me that there was nothing to be found that it would be "a shot in the dark" to conduct the biopsy, and that "this happens often" (that masses suddenly disappear. I felt infantilized and wished I had a patient advocate with me in the room. I was not being listened to as the patient. I was not respected. It seemed like she just wanted to get paid for doing no work. I got a second opinion a couple days later, and the masses were still there, and the biopsies were done. The second physician told me "this never happens," contrary to Dr. Tsai's words. I later found out that Dr. Tsai lied in the report of my patient visit, not indicating that she had not detected any mass, but rather, that I chose not to follow through with… the procedure. I would not recommend going to Dr. Tsai unless you know you will advocate for yourself and/or have an advocate with you. Due to COVID-19, the latter wasn't an option for me.

Dr. Tsai is such a compassionate person. I felt very comfortable under her care at the breast care center. If there were a thing as a personal radiologist, I would want her to be mine!
