Dr. Erinn Marie Hoekstra, MD

She doesn't listen and she says one thing, but means another. Long story short, she freaks out when you discuss doing something she isn't ok with. She made it sound like i could have a vbac, but when we addressed it, you'd have thought we were talking about slautering a kitten...literaly a mini tantrum, legitly screamed "you'd be going against medical advice". She only works 3 days a week and never available when needed. She isn't honest about her opinions. My husband is an OT and knows the medical field, she word vomits a lot. She defintely puts on a smile and is fake. She makes very small statistics (under 10%) seem like they are more in the 90%. She frequently cancels your appointments due to deliveries (which isn't bad but it shows she is spread thin), and may only give you a 20 min heads up. She rushes through your appointments to move to her next one, but she will talk to you about things; if she knows the answer and wants to take the time to address it, but mostly talks in… circles or deviate if she isn't sure. She would continuosly ask for the wrong test, which is no skin off her nose, just added to your over all bill. Her mistake, but you pay for it...if you don't catch it.. My first born was born micropreemie at 24 weeks (she did not deliver), with my 2nd all she did was 2 ultrasounds, i asked for one multiple times, but she said there was no reason to.... mind you my last ultrasound was at like 22 weeks and my previous pregnancy went horribly wrong. It is not out of my right to request another ultrasound. She also couldn't answer any of my questions (had to do my own research to find answers) and She doesn't seem well educated on what any other dr would tell you to NEVER use during/after pregnancy (medicine wise). Through research and talking to every other mom, most places will do 3 and then of course you get the 3D images with the later one. She encourages c-section which is more money in her pocket, then a natural birth. I will admit she is a good surgeon and my scar is healing nicely, otherwise my husband would have had her head lol. C-sections should not be taken lightly, they are extremely tramatic to the body. DO NOT USE HER, THERE ARE BETTER DOCTORS IN THAT OFFICE (or any other office) WHO GIVE A CRAP ABOUT YOU. She's fine to see once a year for a pap smear but thats about all i'd use her for. Too bad her nurse, Nancy, isn't a doctor, she's amazing and goes above and beyond for you.
