Dr. Ernest P Bouras, MD

Dr Bouras was insensitive and a bit offensive during the initial consultation. Then, he did not follow through with his recommendations and failed to schedule the testing he said would be necessary. As my condition worsened, there was less and less cooperation from him and his office . Truly disturbing experience that I paid for in so many ways. A big disappointment.

Initially impressed with his knowledge, but offended by his flippant and mocking attitude of notes from my previous doctors. I felt that he was not taking my concerns seriously. Subsequently, the doctor simply offered the most basic information available on options, showing no effort to actually help with the specific issues. It is a shame that someone so highly educated does not use his knowledge to help patients with serious, life-threatening medical issues.

Me and my husband traveled from Baton Rouge, Louisiana all the way to Jacksonville, Florida just to have an appointment with Dr Ernest Bouras, after spending almost a year with several doctors, nurse practitioners, technicians performing different kind of tests with no luck and a continuously increasing frustration. After talking to my brother in law, and his wife, we decided to schedule an appointment with somebody at the Mayo Clinic. We chose Dr Ernest Bouras. He listened our story with enough attention to perceive our concern and pain. I didn't know what was happening to me. I had been normal healthy person who could eat almost anything with no consequences, but all of the sudden, certain things upset my esophagus. Dr Bouras was the only one who figured out what was disturbing my esophagus. But not only that, he also gave me the solution so I could live with my new condition GERD and taught us how to manage the situation. Dr Bouras made us feel at home, appreciated, and he did what… was necessary to relieve my pain, my discomfort, my frustration, my fear. He is an awesome professional and a better person. I recommend Dr Ernest Bouras totally.

came from richmond va to see dr bouras and had two short visits with him with no satisfaction! he told me my meds was where i needed to start but had stopped all meds 6 weeks prior to going to mayo, made no sense. sd that gastro problems would not cause constant nausea so he ruled out a brain tumor. was not able to tolerate a test due to nausea! i was nauseaed and had diarrea on last visit and he released me as though it was no big deal and i was heart broken! he did not seem interested in my case and it was very matter of fact. i have been going to may for 3 yrs now because of ocular melanoma and all drs that i have seen have been wonderful caring drs who listen. dr bouras seemed preoccupied and even started dictation before the visit was over! very diapointed!!!!!!!

Arrogant, preconceived diagnosis and is never wrong

Dr. Ernest Peter Bouras MD is a wonderful, intelligent and compassionate physician. Very comforting.

Doctor Bouras is extremely knowledgable about his specialty and provided answers that dozens of other physicians were unable to provide. Thanks to Doctor Bouras, I am now on the road to recovery after years of wrong answers. The other reviews online do not do him justice; they made me nervous about whether traveling 10 hours to see him would be worth it, but it was the very best decision I could have made for my health. If you want to finally stop being dismissed by doctors and handed medications that only hide your problem, making an appointment with Dr. Bouras is a great step towards understanding and overcoming your illness

Dr. Bouras had no interest in me as a patient or my wellbeing and was extremely abrasive and insulting to me during a difficult time of chronic medical illness. I would never reccomend him to anyone else.
