I would give him six stars if I could. I was referred to him after nearly two years of dealing with an ischial tuberosity ulcer that wouldn't heal. From the first visit, he presented himself as a supremely knowledgeable and confident doctor who could provide me with the best care. And that was my experience with him. From that first consultation to the final post-operative follow up: thorough, attentive, ever-available and patient. He even provided assistance with a non-related medical issue. Dr. Chiu is an incredible doctor who genuinely cares about his patients and it shows in everything he does.

Dr. Chiu did what I had thought to be impossible. He successfully healed my life long burn wound on my heel. He performed 2 surgeries that included a full thickness skin graft. I listened and complied with all the recovery instructions. The outcome has left me with a 95% pain reduction, a closed wound, and walking! His skills are meticulous which leaves minimal scar tissue. I am ever grateful!!!

Dr. Chiu is the most genuine down to earth honest doctor. From the moment I walked into his office I have felt like I was in good hands every meeting with him felt personalized to me. His caring and devotion to each patient is amazing and praiseworthy. Dr. Chiu listens to his patients and helps them leave his office with their desires. Dr. Chiu did a wonderful job reconstructive surgery on my ear where a keloid deformity formed. He excised the keloid &stitched it up perfectly. Can’t notice a thing, better than before! Very pleased. Thank you Dr. Chiu!

Had a bedsore that was taking an eternity to heal on its own and Dr. Chiu thankfully came in and saved the day. He and his team were incredibly helpful throughout each phase of the recovery.

I rarely write reviews, but I also rarely have had surgery by a surgeon as skilled, brilliant, kind and caring as Dr. Ernest Chiu. It would be remiss, in fact, derelict of me not to write a review to share my experience with others. In short, around six weeks after a prior foot operation, I was told (to my surprise) that my foot suddenly looked very bad and that I needed to see a plastic surgeon/wound specialist immediately. Dr. Chiu worked me into his schedule late the next day and by 3:30 PM the following afternoon I was admitted to Tisch Hospital/NYU Langone Health by Dr. Chiu. I then underwent multiple surgeries over the next six to seven weeks to repair the damage done in the prior operation. The surgeries Dr. Chiu performed were highly complex and he used unique, new skin graft techniques that only a handful of plastic surgeons in the world have the skill set to perform. Throughout my ordeal while in the hospital and afterwards, Dr. Chiu has been efficient, effective, accessible,… articulate in his explanations as well as compassionate and concerned—not to mention one of the nicest people I’ve known. Dr. Chiu is simply “the best” and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him and my good fortune that he was there when I needed him.

I went to see Dr Chiu on Oct 20, after I had a Mohs surgery done on my nose. His team made the appointment next day and was able to plan the surgery very fast, in a week. He was very caring, respectful, knowledgeable, even though I was stressed out and panicked, he listen to all my concerns and comforted me. He offered an option (glabellar transposition flap) that was not suggested by other doctors. I am very pleased with the results so far, after 3 months. He is a world renown expert, but for me he is a savior and I will be forever grateful to him!

Dr. Chiu was very straightforward and honest as to the potential challenges with the wound healing after my son's back surgery. This was comforting to me since it told me he was aware of and careful to work to prevent the worst from happening. As it turned out, my son's wound healed very well and quickly. The scar was minimal considering the magnitude of the cut required. The care and follow-up all went very smooth.
