Dr. Ernest Russell Gibson, MD

Dr Gibson has been my doctor for many years. I have never felt like he was rushing through a diagnosis to get to the next patient. He and his staff treat you like a person, rather than just another face as in a big multi-physician practice. He is willing to answer questions, and always gives explanations of his findings in layman's terms. You may wait a little longer, but it is because he is giving another patient the same individualized caring service he is known for!

doesn't document perscriptions that have affected me adversly - never satisfied when I leave

Dr Gibson spends the time necessary for each patient. I always feel he has listened carefully to my situation. His diagnosis and treatment have always been excellent.

Wait time is incredible at 2 to 3 hrs total time per visit. Forgets to check strep test and almost prescribed wrong antibiotic, staff forgets to sched appt with specialist, drops ball- will be changing.

Dr Gibson's practice is not a Mc'Doctor with a cattle mill mentality like some other local medical groups in East Tennessee (that see the patient less than 4 minutes average). Doctor Gibson takes time to actually talk to the patient and takes the time to actually treat a patient.

I went to a cattle mill large mc-practice after work and was misdiagnosed. I was seen less than 4 minutes at the mc-practice.After a few more days of being ill I called my regular doctor's office and was seen by my doctor, Dr E. Russell Gibson. He diagnosed me with pneumonia and after taking the medication he prescribed I quickly recovered.

loooong wait,he does not listen and tries to hurry you out and off to another dr(specialist)seems like he is afraid to work w/anything other than a common cold.Not only is the wait horrendously long in the WR but also the back room.Be prepared to have your appt last about 3-4 hrs with maybe 15-20 minutes spent w/the dr and nurse who details your info and vitals combined.
