Dr. Ernest H. Sponzilli, MD

I typically dislike humans of the medical profession. However Dr.Sponzilli is a scientist first. This is important as medicine comes from science. Hence why he feels no need to cover up medical/scientific diagnoses with emotional malarky. I also believe he choose his staff this way. His staff are efficient and courteous. If you want someone who will treat you like a small scared child please go look for a far less skilled Doctor of Medicine and staff who only focus on the emotional aspect of treatment. As for me I would much rather have a rude/mean Doctor/Nurse and staff who have great pride and go above snd beyonf when it comes to skills that actually matter to heal me over a over conflated fru fru cloud 9 aptmosphere. With thay said I only have confidence and praise for Dr.Sponzilli and his staff of medical professionals.

If you are having a procedure such as an epidural, where you were referred by another doctor, he is very good. But over the years I find him to be rude, condescending, off-putting and abrupt. He appears to have a very short period of time with each patient. I waited 6 weeks for my appointment, day of the appointment I waited in the small room for 30 minutes. He gave me 10 minutes and did not really seem to be very interested in helping me. Over the years I have seen him several times. I think it's hit-and-miss. Possibly dependent on what his mood is that day.

Does a good job treating pain.

He discovered a healed fracture from an accident when I was 12 years old, diagnosed Fibromyalgia but offered no treatment for it other than a very expensive rehab program. I found him to be thoughtful, honest, not resorting to drugs without good cause. He works well with physical therapists.

Dr. Sponzilli is a rude, arrogant jerk. A complete waste of time going to him.

Dr. Sponzilli was very condescending. He had not reviewed any of my medical information before meeting with me nor did he seem interested in hearing it directly from me. He did take a couple minutes to review my MRI, and he did a very cursory physical exam. His manner was very abrupt and he acted as though I was wasting his time. I am now working with another pain specialist, who actually took the time to review my case thoroughly with me.
