Dr. Ernesto Reyes Millan, MD

This doctor does not hesitate to refer his patients and I like that! However, he is of strong character and lacks tact when it comes to dealing with the children sometimes. I think the reason he is so serious is because he intends be more "professional" in the eyes of the parents. I sometimes wish he was a little more balanced and catering to both children and parents. He can come across as rude and short but I think he's a good doctor. He does not settle for less and is somewhat of a perfectionist. I like that I can be seen as needed if the need arises.

i love Dr. Millan and his staff, they are always so nice and helpful!! The receptionist ruby is wonderful always so sweet, and yany she is always so helpful and sweet always has time to listen. Edna the medical assistant is great with the kids and always has a positive attitude. Dr. Millan is great always fast and good with kids.

I love Dr. Millan. I struggled for years to get my daughter to be seen by a specialist. As soon as I switched my daughter over to Dr. Millan, he immediately caught something out of the ordinary, sent her to a ear, nose and throat specialist where they diagnosed her with chronic sinus disease. Thanks to him, she now gets all the proper treatment and meds for this disease!

This doctor use to be good prompt and courteous but lately things have been not so good. First off if you wanna make an appointment even if you someone answer the phone the want you to call back and leave a message (they don't return messages til the end of the day) that's if you don't get a busy signal when you do call. I had an appointment one day at 4 I get there at 3:50 and I wasn't seen til 6, explain that one ? Also the smugness of this Ernesto is uncanning. He spends literally less than 10 mins and assumes his diagnoses is right, it was wrong I had to comeback for a second appointment.

We've been going to Dr. Millan since having our oldest child 18 years ago. Over the years there have been a few instances that stuck out. When our oldest was 9 months old something wasn't quite right, took him in (back then you could get sick appointments), and was told it was teething despite me expressing that it wasn't. We left for out of town later that day. The next day he was still clearly miserable, so we took him to an urgent care where he was diagnosed with a double ear infection. Our oldest was diagnosed with high functioning Autism, and began to develop an eating disorder. Over the years, I'very learned to watch his behavior closely as he had quite a few issues with being bullied, depression and being suicidal. So when he dropped close to 50lbs in 4 months, it was sort of a big deal as he has a tendency to be obsessed with certain behaviors. When I brought him to be checked, Dr. Millan expressed that my child (who had been overweight), was within the normal range, and… would be so even if he lost another 10 lbs (what my insecure teen heard was "You still need to lose weight". He went on to say it was OK that he was skipping meals because he wasn't hungry, as long as he wasn't underweight he was fine. I expressed that I would really like to get this under control before it became a big issue, and he basically said that he was 18 in a month and could do whatever he wanted. With our middle child, I brought him in due to Behr's lines on all of his fingers (he had the croup in December), complaining of back pain, and issues urinating (before bed he'd have to go but nothing would come out, so he'd get back in bed but a minute later he'd feel the need to go....this happened 4-5 times before he could finally urinate and was a nightly sometimes all day thing). We did a month of home remedies before making an appointment (drinking extra water, cranberry juice, sitting to pee etc.). Made the appointment, first available was 2 weeks out. Upon walking in, he did an exam for scoliosis and proceeded to tell me his spine looked good and was winding up the appointment. I interrupted him and explained that that wasn't really why we were there. He seemed irritated and snapped "Well, that's what it says on the chart...Back Pain". I explained it was a combination of things. I said "His nails have ridges and lines on them".....Dr.Millan looked at them and said "Viral. It was caused by an illness a month or two ago". I continued with. "I wasn't sure if it was connected with his back hurting and the issues with urination, as it all started after he had the croup". He replied that the lines were from him being sick, and there was nothing wrong with his back because he wasn't dribbling urine to indicate a bladder infection ...probably growing pains. So, what should we do about his need and inability to urinate? He told me to quit bringing it up, that it was psychological and I was triggering it by focusing on it. He told me that he would do a urine test, but didn't see the need to as he was certain there was no infection. I'm really angry still and haven't called for our results. Our middle child is not a complainer when it comes to physical pain, he came to us out of frustration by not being able to urinate normally. To insinuate that it is My fault is absolutely rediculous. I know my children, I know when they're hurt and I truly dislike being dismissed as if I were on overbearing and crazy.

Dr Millan is a great dr if you can ever get an appointment to see him. You have to schedule your appointments 2 months in advance. There are never any "sick appointments" available, they always try to make me go to the urgent care instead. The receptionist is rude and always has a bad attitude.

We have been seeing Dr. Millan since before our oldest was born, almost 15 years ago. I would not choose any other Dr. for my kids. He and his staff are courteous and very helpful.
